Upped reflux meds but worse?

Hello all

Soetlief, I'm from pretoria and am urgently looiking for a voedvrou for my baby pls. Would like to have the details of the voedvrou you know. Please. Please.

My boy was a bad reflux baby and although i wouldn't say the Losec made it worse it definately didn't make it any better.

After trying all the reflux formulas etc i eventually put him onto Isomil soy formula feom about 12w up to 8m and i must tell you it made the world of difference, the puking stopped and the tummy cramps stopped.

Both the Dr and Myself had presumed it was reflux because of the vomiting and the burning it was causing as it came up each time but i after changing the milk realized maybe the cows milk formulas were causing all the symptoms of reflux too.

he doesn't have a cows milk allergy as such, well he drinks well over 1l of full cream cows milk a day now, but i just think when his system was so small the cows milk was irritating his tummy. After 8m i tried him on lactogen to see how he would react and he was fine, by 1 year i had him on regular cows milk.

remember Nan HA is for allergies but still contains lactose so not ideal for lactose intollerant babies.

Skyler - I bought Nestargel yesterday at M-Kem pharmacy in Durban Road, Durbanville. I couldn't find it in any shop in capegate or tygervallei, but most pharmacies should stock it or you can even try clicks.

Hi, With my daughter she also suffered alot and losec didn't really help. After I gave her Buscopan syrup, she is fine now. I kept her formula to Nan and she is now 9 months and is doing fine.

So sorry to hear that you are struggling so much with Reflux.

Skyler, I would also suggest that you start using Nestargel with the HA formula. That is what I am currently doing with my little girl who is suffering from reflux as well.

Isomil worked for my son who also suffered reflux, but did not help for my little girl.

You can try giving you baby some Gaviscon & Buscopan as well.
