I also got a price list from Ubuntu. They are based quite close to me in Centurion, I am in Pretoria.

Jems, did you also get it from Ubuntu?

I have one salt light, but am not sure of the size, and the price list just has prices and sizes, so hard to say. Its the kind of light you will use for a long time. And they do seem to have good properties about them.

I am going to look around at health shops and see what I can find too to compare sizes.

Ok so I got the prices for the salt lamp if anyone needs...

So I am walking through the aisles at checkers today (was doing company shopping) and I have been collecting little pressies for Jade and Troy's xmas stockings and saw these cute little kiddie flash lights. Throw 2 in the trolley and then I see this fab little blue night light!!! :) It's one of those you pop batteries in and can move around. Those little round ones. It is blue with little yellow stars and moon on. Not too bad. And it cost R7.99!!! Bargain!!!

you can buy the salt lamps from most health shops too and there are other sites also selling them so just google himalayan salt lamps and compare prices a bit.

In terms of toddler proof i would put it out of their reach like with anything electrical.
It is a hollowed out lump of salt rock on a wooden base with a light bulb inserted into the hollow.

Apart for the electrical wires my daughter had a thing about licking the lamp as a baby (it is literally salt so if licked it tastes salty ... ) I would worry about how much licking goes on if you are not nearby and it is within reach :P

This salt light is wonderful! I wonder how much they cost?
Going to email them now!

Please let me know as well, they are just what I am looking for.

Do they get hot when on and how "toddler proof" are they - Liam can be pretty rough
