It's always the number that puts me off many of the gatherings Julz =) so small usually works better for me.

Just wanted to say that Lelani and I are friends on the Vix group. I go to her house fairly often for a visit in Paarl.

It is a small group that meet. We have a great chat and the kids have a nice time together. Our boys are all two and Yoza has a baby girl now.

Hi - I'm now urgently looking for creches. Knowing the research you guys must have done I thought I'd see if you can help.

I am trying to get Liam into something as soon as possible for a couple of times a week, mornings only and am really struggling to find anything.

I have him on the list for a place in Wellington but they only take in at 2.5 yrs. Tried the new Montessori but same story they take in from 3. Kitty Kat I'm also going to see the creche at Bridge hse - the woman I spoke sounded amazing and this could very well be an option for me if of course their list for next year isn't full!

And then what have you come across your once a week playgroups in the form of Moms and Tots, Clamber club etc.

I think I've only really caught a wakeup now seeing Liam withdraw more and more when he is in the company of other kids - so now really wikkeling.

I heard about another one called Squirrels which apparantly have very small classes - around 8.

Juno, so sorry for not replying yet!! Things have been hectic with me the last week.. All kinds of things that is happening suddenly..!

Yea, I will see if the Bridge House playschool is worth the money.... It does look lovely. I signed him up a week ago, but they are actually full and he is on a waitlist. They are strictly taking 2-4 year olds, and my boy is only turning two in April.. so hopefully some space will open up before then!
The one I was talking about on the wemmershoek road -- I cant STILL not remember the name !!!! But its on that sidestreet just off Wemmershoek road called Listergan road From there you see the signs. Sorry Juno, it feels like I cant remember anything today (and yesterday...) but I will remember and write you then.
I think the post "Boland Mums" will be awesome! I will start it if you like, but then you must please post there as well

i feel exactly like you when it comes to my boy. He is way to isolated, the only child, and he must be tired of my company the whole day. He loves to play with other kids, but the poor thing never gets a chance to do so...

The clamber club is not listed for some reason. ONCE AGAIN, I forgot the woman who is running it, bu she is in Boschenmeer Estate. I will find out -- actually thanks for reminding me!!!

Kittycat great to hear from another Boland mom. So why Paarl of all places esp. after Fourways (I get so sick of still answering that question=). What area are you in?

So you must be going to Bridge House then? I didn't realise they had a playgroup. You must keep me posted about what it's like. From what I've heard you will be getting your money's worth though. And the surrounds are just beautiful. So when will he be starting - and when did you apply? Which is the other playgroup on the Wemmershoek rd?

Liam is 13 months now and I've been meaning to join Moms & Tots for ages - I really must do it. He's very isolated and is far too used to adult company only. So Paarl does have a clamber club? Looked on their webiste and don't see it. I don't know them at all.

You'll build up that social circle - just takes a bit of time. Do you work full time?

Getting together at some point sounds like a definite plan. I don't know of many more moms out this way. Most are in the North and South zones of CT. Maybe we should start a thread "Boland Moms" =) It's really great speaking to people rom the same town - you will be amazed at how experiences differ - I am still surprised by the odd little place that has been around for ages and which I've never known about. One of these is that amazing little Italian ice cream (the real thing) parlour in Main road. Yummy.

I am also living in Paarl, and like Juno, moved from Fourways last year.
I also LOVE it here!!! You can never say never, but I will really hate moving back to JNB.
My boy is almost 2. I decided to wait until he is 2 before sending him to a school/creshe/playgroup.
Lelani, I have been to little miracles, but personally its too big for me. Then I checked out a daymother in Paarl town, but also about 20 kids!!
There is a VERY nice playgroup on the Wemmershoek road, I cant remember the name now, but its basically 2 mothers' that started a half day playgroup on a farm setting. I am not sure how old is your LO, but they are taking kids strictly from 2 years old.
I enrolled my boy at the playgroup in Pearl valley though. I dont think its better than the playgroup on the wemmershoek road, but as its SO expensive, my LO grandpa said he will help with the costs and he is really "pro" this one, so I suppose we will go there. I checked it out the other day, and it does look awesome, with about 10 kids in the class, and 3 trained teachers.

Maybe all of us in Paarl can have a get together one day? Maybe there is more mommies out there? I hardly know anybody! (although its my own fault.!) Also thinking of joining the clamber club in Paarl..
