potty training help!

I was very gung ho with the potty thing, but learned the hard way that you need to go with the flow and only start training when they seem ready. In the end I just left him and figured that if he is going on a date wearing a nappy and carrying his bottle with him, he will realize its kind of uncool. Fortunately (for him) things may not turn out that drastic (well maybe with the bottle thing still )
So we had our potty for almost a year now and Ethan is only now showing some real indication that he wants the potty.
I am sending at least four pairs of undies and pants to school - he has about two accidents a day - only no 1s and we wear pull-ups (with underpants over - cause he insists ) when we go out and at night.
By the way I am lazy and have been using pullups for a very long time now - much easier when you try to change a toddler on the run. And they are perfectly fine during the night, especially now that he uses the potty before going to bed. And yes, for number 2 - you just tear them on the sides and Bob's your uncle

Monica I'm in the same boat as you are! My LG don't mind the potty and sits there for hours, but usually without doing anything!

Me, hubby and school teacher talked it through and we decided that our LG is not totally ready to potty train yet!

So we have decided to potty train this coming supper!

Our LG come and tell me when she has already did no 1 or 2 and believe me she talks like nobody's business! It's just that she doesn't get it yet that the potty or loo is there for no 1 and 2 and she has to tell me when she is in need!

Well to come to the point - I was very stressed about this a few weeks ago, but we've decided to give it some more time! I have talked to so much mommies and caregivers and at the end I think you should treat your child as an individual and follow her needs!

We do take her to the potty etc if she asks, but she stays with the nappy!

hi there , my little one hated the potty , she does like the seat that fits on the big toilet and the creche has asked me now not to send any more diapers for her as she sleep with her panties on. She still does have accidents , but surprisingly only at home with her dad and me .

But at school she is fine , i also think it is from watching the other kids too

I would use the pull ups during the day and a regular nappy at night. Not so sure the pull ups are strong enough for night time use.
