Infected mosquito bites?

I have had the biggest problem with bites on my baby's skin. Every since he started going to creche 4 months ago he has come home with bites after bites.

I also was told that it was flee bites from the sand pit at school, that then got infected because Marley would scratch them raw. The pead prescribed bactoban (so i am sure its safe for little ones). It seems to be working but my little guy is covered in scars.

Before this i used Sudocream which was amazing because it soothed his skin and prevented his urge to scratch so there were no major scars.

I fumigated the house with the flee smoke stuff you buy at pick and pay. It works but its just a bit of a hassle as you have to leave the house for 8 hours and then air it for one hour before you can go in.

Thanks girly! I think I am applying any cream in our house at the moment. Hoping we find the "right"one. Bactroban is one of creams I am using. I think it is defnitely some kind of allergic reaction to some kind of bite either fleas or mozzies. Hopefully with the winter here, all insects will leave us alone!

I am quite allergic to mossy bites and I used to scratch in my sleep without knowing and then they get infected and it gets quite bad.
But exactly what Marilu described, hot and hard to the touch.

Chemist suggested bactroban to help with the infection and I have and still do keep it in the house. Not sure if safe on a young ones skin but maybe give your local pharmacy a call?

BTW I get the same reaction out of flea bites.. I was hoping I'd outgrow this but afraid not yet.

Marilu, I think you are right, maybe it is fleas. I think I rather would like to believe that it is not!!! We have a dog, but I am 99% sure she doesn't have fleas. The bites happened during the night, so maybe i need to clean her room again.

Gloeiwurmpie, I don't think it's the mozzie bite if the marks went away completely.

Migs recently also had a few marks (raised pimple-like) on her whole body: the GP said it was mozzie bites, the paed said it was a virus (contagiosum), the dermatologist said it was MAYBE contagiosum, the 2nd opinion dermatologist said it was flea bites. (All of them were guessing)

We don't have dogs at home so I contacted the creche and asked when they're getting the exterminators (I think that's what they're called??) in and since then no rash.

Could it be fleas? I'm just guessing here

Lize P, this is EXACTLY what happens!! Maybe it just looks more hectic because it's like 15 all together.

I have no medical experience to say whether it can happen or not.
Sometimes when a mozzy sting me, a red circle forms around the area (about the size of a R5 coin), it feels hot to the touch and swells up . This lasts for about a week, then makes a little pimple and dissapears.
Maybe people have different reactions to mozzy bites?
