My son hates washing his hair or me touching his head.
So to keep it soft & moisturised, I put my own concotion is a spray bottle!!!
I mis, water, conditioner, tea tree oil, coconut oil in a spray bottle, spritz his hair & its soft & moiturised!!
I use a wide toothed comb to detangle while its wet or damp. This is great as he loves me spraying his head but hates it when I apply moisturiser.
The most natural moisturiser u'll find is Shea butter, pure shea butter. Dnt know where to buy it in SA though.
With regards to Kinky/coily hair, its naturally dry so u need moiture all the time. Its also very porous (loses moisture easily) so sealing the moisture in is crucial.
What I do with my hair (not my boy's) is at night I moisturise, then seal the ends with coconut oil (Im inlove with coconut oil) Olive oil, grapeseed oil, Jojoba oil, Amla oil will also do the trick.
I do this every night & because these oils penetrate the hair shaft & not just coat it, u dnt sit with oily hair all the time time, it absorbs it completely.
This has done wonders in softening my hair
