You should give your child some time to get used to the dog. My son who is 3 is very fond of our cats but they were there before he was born

Funny that you mention the bad nights: we got our two puppies a week before we found out I was pregnant I can't even tell you how well prepared I was for sleepless nights with a baby after house training our two monsters

Hubby knows coz they sometimes use them at his workplace! ALSO he has been biten twice by them, I think thats why he is not so fond of the dogs!

Julz I have told him so many times! He says he rather rush his son to ER for some allergy reaction than to see him being licked by a dog on his face! (he's such a hater )

I've even made a promise that I know very well I wont keep....I will wash the dog, feed it, spray it even stay up with it whenever it has a bad night

Vamo we had two fully grown large dogs when Dylan was born so he he had no option. They both passed on and were replaced and the last replacement was recently when we got a boerboel x puppy and they are best of buddies. He is quite rough with Dylan which took him a little while to get used to so give them time.

On the plus side tell hubby that kids that grow up with pets have less allergies.

Oh, I love Boerbulls (sp?)! They get massive as grown-ups, hey!? Does your DH know that lol...sorry, just kidding
