Sounds good. Do you have a written work agreement with your nanny? If not, I think you should get one in place. Its just easier if everything (hours, pay, duties in detail, what is allowed and what is not etc) is written down, agreed upon and signed by both parties.

I'm an English nanny to 3 Afrikaans boys. Luckily I understand Afrikaans and can speak it fairly well, but the mum wants her boys to speak English as dad is English. They know to speak English to me and dad and Afrikaans to mum and they both speak both well.

Hope the nanny is working out!

Hi

I also agree with Yaz, under 3 's pick up languages quikly, so its actually better to expose them to more languages when they are young

Your daughter will be bilingual, its a benefit

Good luck with the nanny

Beatrice...Yaz couldn't have said it better!

Though she might take a bit longer than usual to master one language (English or Afrikaans) but she will come right eventually. These little people are very smart indeed :)
