A snacky does work wonders! I dont always go this route, it's easy to spoil Judes dinner wiht a bit of biltong or a cookie and i'm usually in the shop for the next meal.

For about 6 months after Dylan started walking he was a mare to take to the shops. He was newly mobile and was going to get the most out of it. I eventually got to the point where I told him trolley or hold my hand and it worked quite well.

Airports are the worst, but now we bribe him. Buy him a sweetie toy and he is pretty good. When we have to take him shopping he may have a lucky packet at the end if he is good and sits in the trolley. If he wants other things then he gets to choose which one and often he chooses nothing. (I am talking flings vs lucky packet not lego or anything).

Now he just shouts nOOOOO no shoes when we go into a shoe shop. Very funny.

Mom of Dylan and Partner to Joerg. We live in the Beautiful Pringle Bay which is along the Whale coast, Cape.

Mari B, like Migs, Kyle runs wild in the malls. Luckily we have Jaydon always running after him. If we go grocery shopping, we have one trolley for the boys and also give them sweets or chips and one for the goodies we buy.
I bought a leash about a month ago and Kyle screamed blue murder until I got it off. He hates being restricted. So money gone down the drain.

Speaking of the embarrassment when people make comments about the 'leash'...

MIL used a harness for her youngest daughter. Someone must have made the 'dog' comment in her hearing - whenever they put it on her, she would start "barking"...
She thought it was a huge joke, MIL wanted to crawl into a hole.

Now I'll be getting MIL a new leash, since they look after my LB - wonder what they will do if I teach him to bark as well

PS I LOVE the idea of a harness!! (Apparently I also was walked on a harness when I was small) But I know Migs won't tolerate it so I don't want to spend money on something that I'm 90% sure won't work.
