Potty Training early

IT's weird that she will poo but not wee on the potty, it's usually the other way round.

Naiomi- you made me laugh so much!!!! MG has started bringing the potty to us when she wants to sit on it. But there are still times when you ask to take her nappy off and she shakes her head.
It would appear at this point that she likes to poo on it but isnt so keen on the wee part.

Thank you to all you ladies that have made me feel better. I wonder why people feel the need to make you feel bad about decisions you make!

You are not a bad Mommy at all Jaundre. Parents that force it on their children are another kettle of fish alltogether but you are taking the no preassure route which is great. My LG was fully potty trained night at day at 2.5years. We tried at 18 months and it didn't work, then at two she decided one day on her own she didn't want a nappy anymore and went straight to the toilet (We used a special seat on the loo) and by 2.5 years she was off the night nappy also. We also took the total no preassure route and it really paid off.

I was so chuffed this evening when my 21 month old came to tell me "Mommy Poo" and pointed at her nappy. At first I was like "peekaboo?" umm "I see you?" And then I realised what she was trying to tell me. Parents are so thick sometimes

I am thinking that maybe it is time to introduce a potty to the house now. Let her play with it and use it as head gear as Naomicee puts it Just see where it goes...

Awesome mommy!!!!!! I do part-time EC with my little girl and we have been 'pottying' since she could sit unassisted at about 5/6 months. She has good days and days when we miss every wee and poo . She loves to sit on the potty, smiles and laughs and signs 'potty' a lot of the time that she needs to go. I've just started potty training the 18 month old I look after. Very gently of course. I don't see any issue with introducing things early, after all rather now than when they hit 2yrs old and don't want to do anything that mommy asks!!!

Hey Juandre, I actually went and bought my LG a potty the other day, was very impressed when I was your first update about M doing so well with potty training, great stuff. Our potty is currently being utilised as head gear but we'll keep trying She can at least let me know if she's poo poo'd already, she'll walk up to me with a clean nappy. Then I know she needs help.

I don't remember how old she was when this was taken, I think 5 months. We caught loads of poo's even a couple of pee's.

I was a stay at home mom back then. Then we had a bad teething spell and we stopped for a bit and I started working when she was 15 months, so I had to stop because the school doesn't 'potty train' that early so it would have been futile and I got lazy Lazy LAZY!

Full of excuses now - but that's all they are - she could have been off the nappy totally by now (during the day) but - one word here, lazy!
