Hi There

I do the same as Karatemom, my son would freak at a hairdresser, so what i do is before shower time i stand him on chair infront of the basin, fill the basin up with water and bubbles and i put his plastic sea animals in the water and he is entertained by that whilst i trim his hair. When he does fight me i just tell him im cutting his hair so that it looks like Buzz Lightyear lol and that sometimes works as well.

Good Luck.

I want to go (try) the shaving route. What number do you do it on?

We also used to just shave Reece's hair but after about the 4th time of doing it he suddenly point blank refused. It was really traumatic for us all. So we let it grow out of the shoddy cut and now it's quite long. I also need to find a kid friendly salon in my are but there just arn't any. I know of this place in Tygervalley but I have had bad reports about it and it is also really out of my way.

I agree completely with Karatemom. Get a good pair of scissors - I use my sewing scissors - and give your son something new and exciting to play with (cell phone, Wallet, mommy's bangle whatever) and just go slowly cutting a little at a time.

Dylan was fine from 10 months old at the kiddie salon. I used to wonder why other kids cried so much. Well until now that is. About 5 months ago I took Dylan and he got half a haircut. That was as far as they could get as he was impossible. Now we use clippers at home and Neil helps to hold him down.

He really hates the hair in his face etc.

Wish it was so easy.

Mom of Dylan and Partner to Joerg. We live in the Beautiful Pringle Bay which is along the Whale coast, Cape.
