Ladies, I am so thankful for this thread. Just last night, I told my mom I think I am going crazy with my LG's screaming ang crying about everything. She is an angel at creche but as soon as I pick her up she starts screaming and crying before we even climb in the car. And this continue until her dad gets home later in the evening and then she is an angel once again. By then I am either near tears or so worked up and he can't understand what I am talking about.

Because hubby works a bit later I try to feed and bath LG as early as possible and prepare dinner but it is just chaos. My mom is visiting us at the moment and my LG stays with her during the day. My mom says she never screams or cries but when I put my foot in the front door she starts with her tantrums. She even pulls out her hair!!

What worries me is that I am expecting another baby in June and that this new addition to our family will only be making things more difficult for her.

Thanks for everyone's advice!

I think everyone with a child experiences this.

My boy is almost 3 and he is the perfect image of an angel when he is at creche, the minute I pick him up from creche all hell breaks loose.

I end up ignoring him, turning my music up in the car, walk way at home or put him into the naughty corner or his room.

He is starting to get the fact that he doesnt get a reaction from me so the tantrums are getting shorter and he actually comes out of his room when he is done and says sorry.

Its hard - but it will get better!

Good luck and really hope it gets easier. Another important thing to remember is that YOU need to stay calm. Screaming back or getting upset also just sends the message that screaming is ok.

Abigail - you can also order from the website www.therific.co.za and it will be mailed to you. Or you can have a look at the list of franchises / agents to see if there is one closer to you
