Hi there ladies,

I have a child who fell and broke two teeth. We where told by the dentist (and got 2nd and 3rd opinions) that the only way out was to pull them. So we did. It was HORRIBLE, he was under full anesthetic in theater and it really isn't an experience that I want to repeat. We where also further advised by our medical aid, that they only pay for anesthesia for teeth once in a kid's lifetime. But since we saw it as an emergency, we just did it.

Then a year later, he fell again and broke 2 more teeth!! This time one of the two broke right into the nerves and actually bled. As you can imagine it was hell on earth. A 3year old with an intensely painful tooth is a nightmare.

Because our medical aid won't pay for another anesthesia session and I couldn't find any dentist willing to do it in a chair, I was forced to make a plan.

I started giving him nr 4 tissue salts (every half hour at least) to stop inflammation. And nr 1 and 2 tissue salts to build strong teeth. Together with daily Scott's emulsion, the full 15ml dose. And due to the pain, I stopped brushing his teeth, only let him rinse with colloidal silver to kill germs.

THREE DAYS later, he was able to eat and drink any hot / cold stuff (even ice cream) without any pain. I was shocked at how well my "last resort" had worked.

But that's not all, I got some great advise form a guy who spesializes in pediatric molecular nutrition. He said to give him lots of the Cod liver oil (Scott's emulsion has more than enough of the vitamin A that Marijke mentioned.) And to let him rinse his mouth with sesame seed oil once a day and add coconut oil to his diet somehow.

Other advice I got from him was to cut out gluten products (wheat) and give him honey once a day.

So now he gets, nr 1 & 2 tissue salts daily, 15 ml Scott's emulsion, a table spoon of coconut oil mixed into yogurt, and rinses his mouth with sesame seed oil.

AND you won't believe it, but his teeth are growing back!!! All the cavities in the back of his mouth (molars) are closing up. I am amazed.

It takes at least 2 weeks before the teeth starts to grow, so be patient, but know that it works, its amazing!

I don't think we'll be going to a dentist again soon, except maybe to take more x-rays to show the dentist who wanted to pull his teeth that they are healthy now.

Marijke, Thank you. Not the news I wanted to hear but my thoughts have moved into that direction too...The problem now with the dummy is that when I tried to take it away she started to suck her thumb/fingers. For now I will have to be more careful with regularly sterillising the dummies.

Hi there,

I guess with the younger kids its easier for the dentist to get the job done while they are under with less discomfort for kids but more stress for the mamas.

My daughter had her teeth done here with the gel. She was 3 years old and dentist said it lasts 2 years.

I have 2 little girls and we living in Hong Kong.

Wow, thanks. Maybe I should give this a try. I am worried since they say it is a genetic problem where the top of the morels does not close completely (we brush teeth every morning and every night, first they do it by themselves and after we do a proper brushing. Sweets, they do have the occasional sweet from Ouma, but other than that, they drink water and eat very healthy) ? So not sure if that method would work... however, it is worth a try

I am just supper stressed to put my babies through unwanted stress ... I heard from someone that some doctors use a liquid based substance they put over the children's teeth at the doc office?

I am definitively getting the cod liver oil, a quick Google revealed that it stops you getting more - this would be a good precaution to follow anyway - THANKS!

If anyone can recommend a good Dentist I know I can trust with a second opinion, it would be greatly appreciated !

Hi Nadz,

Thanks for this thread, I am having the same problem currently!!!
My almost 4 year old's 4 bottom teeth look terrible! I am convinced they must have cavities. I did take her to the dentist 4 months ago but she said that she can't say if it is a cavity yet or not. She said that only when they start to complain about pain you will know it is a cavity. (Don't know if this is true?)

She has been on long term low dose antibiotics for a while for a medical problem. I don't know if this was the culprit. I am so perplexed by this because we brush regularly and she almost never has sweets. She never went to bed with a bottle lying down. Her teeth are really starting to look terrible and I know I should do something but don't know where to take her.

The dentist we visited last was a very young lady and I am not so sure she is very experienced. Where do you go????

Marijke, thanks for all the info. I am very interested in the cod liver oil supplements, I hope Hasie can give more info!!

I have no idea how I could make her diet more healthy than what it is now, I think already she is on the healthiest of diets ever seen for a 3 year old!

I am beginning to wonder if the dummy is the culprit. She uses it at nighttime still. I wonder if it is a breeding place where saliva pools. Don't know if it could be that.
