Hi there moomies

Any tips for keeping your toddlers in their car seats?

Logan is now 19 months old and still in a rear-facing car seat.
A few months ago (I forget when exactly) he started taking his arms out the arm straps. I kept stopping the car and putting them back again, but he kept doing it. At first I wasn't overly phased as it was just one arm, but then it became both arms and then he started leaning over side ways so he could touch the back seat, meaning that if we were in an accident his back would be instantly snapped in 2 by the side of the carseat.

So i went out and bought a 4akid strap thingy that you put on the arm straps to keep them together and prevent the kids from taking their arms out.

It worked for a while. He mostly forgot he even wanted to get out. Tried once or twice but without success and gave up pretty quickly.

But now he's figured out how to take it off! Within minutes of starting our journey I hear him say "open!" and look in the mirror only to see he's opened the clip and taken the strap off. Next thing both arms are our and then he's turning almost completely around.
Thankfully he's not strong enough to undo the lap buckle yet but he definitely not the safe the way he's sitting in the seat with no arms straps on.

Any suggestions?
At this particular moment in time all I can think of is tying the arm straps together with a piece of string.
