Joli it is extremely frustrating as you get such good doctors and such bad ones!!!!

I would've freaked out if I was you, some doctors make so many mistakes (some might be considered small, but it could be lief changing) - and get away with it! I am also in a medical profession, and feel responsible for my patients well being and declared under oath that I will always regard every patients individual needs, wants and clinical issues as important as the next! It just seems as if some doctors and specialists today, forgot about this oath, and they are just worried about the money they will be getting!!! OK enough b$#@ng for one day!

Goodluck and please keep me updated as to what the outcome is - and re the bills, if they accept down payment of R 1.00 per month (as this is all I would be able to afford) then go ahead!!! LOL!!!!

THX Angs - I took her to a dentist but he wan't really interested - just went like - ya there's nothing you can do about it! Argh man - it's such a mission to find nice doctors.

That ENT was so 'loskop' He couldn't remember none of the meds he gave her and told me to give her 3 x meds for a week and to bring her back the following week - then he asked me - ARE YOU GIVING HER ANY MEDS?! And I'm like YES - the ones you said I should! And he went like - OH FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN GIVING??! And then he proceeded to do exactly what he did the week before and told me to take her for a hearing test and I was like - that's why she is here! We had her hearing tested and she was referred to a ENT.

 Gonna send you the bills OK!

Yes, Joli I agree take them both for a ENT evaluation just to make sure!

Then, antibiotics used frequently could have an affect on teeth colour, one of my friends son was on antibiotics almost every month and he has really bad teeth - maybe take her to the dentist to check and he could give you the right advice as to care of teeth etc...

Shame, by the looks of how I am suggesting that you need to go to all these different doctors your medical savings will not last - you can maar send me the bill LOL!!!!!!

MHMOM - Megan is definately not sick - not with flu or tonsils. No running nose or fever - just the snoring.

Angie - Kayla's tonsils were removed when she was 3 - she used to get tonsillitis like every 2 months. Another thing - her adult teeth that's coming out now is discolored - wonder if that can be from all the antibiotics?

They took x-rays of her nose and you can see the blockage on the x-rays. She's not sick or anything, but she's always got a blocked nose. I didn't take note how she is breathing. Will look tonight :)

They didn't test for allergies.

Think I should take them both to another ENT.

Joli, is your LG's nose blocked and does she breathe with her mounth open - thus through her mouth?

Sometimes, blocked nose problems could be because of enlarged adenoids and tonsils as well. If you say X-rays were done did they take a nasopharynx X-ray? Another mommy, that chats on OCt/Nov mommies thread with us, son's has never had a open nose and really struggles to breathe, and they picked up that he had enlarged tonsils and adenoids, he is going for the op today to remove them!

I would rather not just try the nose spray, even though you don't need a prescription for it - I would rather take her for second opinion at ENT, and ask about a nasopharynx X-ray.

Then, sinus problems could be due to allergies as well - have they tested her for any allergies???

If you are not happy with a doctor, you have the right to get a second opinion!

Good luck!!!

Joli, when Mia snores out loud I know I'm in for a tonsilitis attack :(

According to her paed and to our GP children should NOT snore.

Hannah had a cold about a month or so ago and also snored and they said the same thing again. The paed suggested a nose spray if it continued in Hannah, but luckily it stopped. Mia had tonsilitis (again) and was given proper meds for it.

About the kissing tonsils, Mia was hospitalised because of how bad hers was - she couldn't breathe properly - not saying your LO has the same thing. Sometimes a cold can also block their airways making them snore.

I find with Mia that when she has tonsilitis that her breathe is really bad in the mornings. Strangely and just for the record, I wouldn't go by eating because even with serious tonsilitis Mia ate like normal - and she can really eat!!! You'd think if their throats were so sore they would change their eating habits!
