This TTC journey is such a personal thing to each person who has walked its often long, painful and very bumpy path.
No one knows what is at the end of the journey, or how it will end, and no one can tell you how to travel or what to pack!
Each person gets to decide how far, how long or how much they want thier feet to bleed, before they decide to walk another route, or give up the journey, or possibly focus on other horizons.
I think the "regret" issue is the one that will bite you in your arse and wake you up at night if you allow it to creept in.
I think if any of us look back along the path for too long, and start second guessing what we did and why we did it, and why we did not do more, it is the thing that will do more damage than any number of bleeding feet.
LoriF - I hope you do have your mourning period and I hope that you are able to find your peace in it, what ever it is. I do think you need to take as much time as you need - - so many people feel guilty because they think that they have been sad too long and need to move on.
Maybe you do move on, maybe you don't - you get to decide that when you are ready and you also get to regress if you want.
