I had to see both Dr Terblanche and Stander when Dr Haacke was on leave but my favourite is still Dr Haacke. I dont know for sure but I've heard that Haacke is the only one who doesnt use staples for C-Sec... I recommend Dr Haacke and he will be delivering my 2nd baby tomorrow.

Hi Nessie,

I saw Dr Stander at Linmed but he went on leave and Dr Terblanche stood in for him and he was wonderful and kind to me. I had to be admitted for preterm labour at 27 weeks at 12:00pm at nite and he drove from PTA just to check if i was ok, and even on the follow up visits he was great he is staight forward but really did explain everything very well without making me feel stupid, I felt quite comfortable with him as my stand in Dr. :)

Hi Nessie,

Like Julz said there is no such thing as bad news in Dr's but just personal opinions...

I dont know Dr Terblanche personally, but a friend of mine went to see him throughout her pregnancy and she seemed to find his bed side manner alittle on the off side...

As in she would ask him "how big is baby?" etc and he turned around and said "what does it matter?", "im delivering this baby"...

And personally if he said something like that to me, i would be alittle ticked off as this baby belongs to me...

But everyone has their opinions and maybe you'll have a wonderful experience with him..

:)

I don't know him ,but I just wanted to say that there is really no such thing as a bad news doc. In most cases the negative things you hear are just opinions from patients and often these are one sided views.

We all have different personalities and we don't gel with all of our doctors, but from a medical point of view 99% of them are brilliant at what they do so I recon you are in great hands.

Wishing you all the very best!!
