First sign is to make sure your baby moves every hour......and touch and nudge your tummy to make baby move. your baby must move all the time..... make a mental note and try and make sure baby moves a little each hour.
Watch for leaking waters - even if it is ever so slightly. (A little bit difficult in summer cos everyone sweats. but if your panties are even a little wet - just rather be safe than sorry.)
And you must take it easy.... you must be resting and putting your feet up and let everyone else do things for you. You must feel like a useless lazy bum!! After all you are carrying the miracle of life around in your tummy!
don't think you are being a paranoid pregnant lady by phoning your gynea and chekcing all the time... you pay them so much they shouldn't mind putting your mind at ease. Phone them for everything that you not sure of.
I lost my baby at 32 weeks. We were so close - yet still so far!!
My waters apparently broke (or leaked) and I did not know. Because i leaked all the fluid, the baby did not have anything protecting him and I got an infection and this is what caused his death.
I felt him move inside for the last time on the Wednesday and it was quite a big kick or punch. I literally felt him trying to push my tummy from the inside.(That was a sign that I did not notice!)
On the friday I had intense upper thigh pain..... although i had, had that pain through out my pregnancy. I went and did grocery shopping so I thought it was just because I had walked so much.
I only realised that i have not felt him in a while on the saturday. I ate chocolate, I drank coffee, I drank coke.... but nothing.
Eventually went to the hospital on the sunday. (silly me for waiting so long but you think you are just being paranoid.) The doc confirmed that baby had been dead for a few days already.
It was the worst moment of my life.
And then to be told that I have to try and deliver this dead baby normally...... shock. The inducing did not work and I only dilated like 4cm and they eventually did a c section on the monday afternoon (3hr long c-section and I landed up in ICU because baby had given me an infection.)
This is the shortened version. I have not actually written down all the details.....
i certainly don't wish this on anyone.
All i can say is that you must feel your baby move all the time.... if baby does not move you make baby move.... and if still not moving go to the hospital so that they can do the feotal monitor thingy..... even if you land up goign to the hospital often.... rather go and be safe than sorry and put your mind at ease.
Also use your gynea - you certainly pay them enough and they are the experts that we trust... USE them - phone them, bug them - put your mind at ease for anything you not sure of.
