I am glad. It is nice for me to know there is someone else there that understands the fear of it happening again. If it hasn't happened to you yet, the chances of ever worrying about it are slim. It is really something you must have experienced to know how it feels like to worry that you could loose your ability to have children or worse, die.

Nice chatting to you and please keep me updated or just pop in to say hi again!

Have a great weekend.

Yes, I remember my cycle was a bit messed up for a short while.
I hope yours will settle soon and that you recover emotionally as well.

Remember, this time round you will be able to monitor the pregnancy very carefully knowing the risk and I am sure your doctor will support you in this approach as well.

My new doctor has done a few tests/sonars for me in times when I feared an ectopic or thought that I might be pregnant understanding the fear surrounding my experience. This helped me feel in control.

And like in my case, things can be just perfect the next time you try to conceive.

Yes you are right, it isn't done and dusted and send you home to heal. It is only when it is too late do they realise what is wrong.

Your story sounds very traumatic and I can relate so much, such a sad time. Everyone does think you are just overreacting.

Good advice to start testing from around 2 weeks after ovulation. This pregnancy all my friends who have had babies and see themselves as experts said I only need to go in for a scan around 8 weeks, if only I had gone when I had found out, the trauma could have been greatly reduced.

I cannot wait to have my first normal cycle and for my body and my hormones to go back to normal and get back into a cycle. I have that constant fear something may still go wrong. It will be 3 weeks since the op on Monday so hold thumbs for me that it doesn't take 3 months to get my regular cycle back.

I am glad to hear that you are going for therapy.

For me one of the worst parts were that nobody knew what was wrong with me. I had the mirena inserted and wasn't planning on a pregnancy. After a few months of feeling strange I suddendly started to bleed after having no period for a year. Something told me to do a pregnancy test and it was possitive.

Anyway, long story short, the gynea who was treating me was very careless in my opinion about the whole situation. She said that she thinks it might be an ectopic pregnancy when I went for a checkup but she can't see anything on the sonar. She then gave me medicine to induce a miscarriage and pain medicine and sent me home. 3 days later the pain was so unbearable that my husband took me to the ER. I was admited me to the hospital but only kept giving me pain stuff (without any relief) and they did not think much of my constant fainting and struggling to breath and low blood pressure. It was a very frustrating situation as I knew something major was wrong, but nobody seemed bothered to find out what was going on. When things started to look dim they did a sonar and saw there was major internal bleeding. They did an emergency operation and a blood transfusion of more thant 2,5 liters of blood.

I still remember saying to the sister that I am dying and she looked at me with an expression of "I think you are overreacting, I will bring you some more pain medicine...".

It was scary to eventually try to conceive. Not many people could understand my fear of it happening again. The best thing one can do is to start testing 10- 14 days after ovulation to find out as soon as possible if it is positive so that after the first positve blood test a second and third bloodtest can be done to confirm a healthy rise in HCG in the blood tests. Once you are past that part, one can relax knowing that it is most likely a normal pregnancy.

Speak to your doctor about any questions you have, it helps to know what you are dealing with so that you feel in control about the process.

Good luck with the healing and be kind to yourself, you have been through a tough time.

Thank you for your reply :)

I am so nervous about it happening again and I think we will wait about 3 months. My gynae said once my cycle returns then I am fit to try again. He said the risk of it happening again are higher but I am hoping and praying that is not the case.

I am in the process of trauma counselling, even though it is difficult it is better in the long run.

It is good to hear about your suzzess after sadness, I hope I am as lucky as you are and have a little bundle!
