Hi Tyra
The period of a year is a guideline.
There is no harm in asking your dr to start investigating, with hormonal blood tests to check your cycle.

TTC for 7 months now was created by tyra87
Hi i am 26 (been married for 4 years - no kids yet)
we have been trying to conceive for 7 months now still no luck.
I have been charting cycle days and one month i even tried ovulation testing sticks for a week - and as per the tests i probably never ovulated that month.
I've been to my Dr and he says i probably just had one anovulatory month and that's normal for most females and i should continue to wait till I've been trying for at least a year before he will refer me to a Gynea.

I'm at a stage where I am very scared right now im only 26, is it normal for someone this young to be struggling so much to conceive?
The Dr wants me to wait longer but the longer I wait the more i lessen my chances of conceiving.
Considering that my Dr does not seem to worried about any of this, Could I at least insist that he starts testing me now before he refers me to a Gynea?(as i know the rule-under 30 try for year before u see a Gynea and over 30 try for 6 months)
