TRYING FOR 2015 BABY

@Morgan55 where are you from? I had exactly the same procedure done but my experience was completely different! We went to the Genesis Fertility Centre at Kloof Mediclinic. My FS is at Kloof. We were told that Hubby needs to be there at 09h00, so we went there, when arrived we had to pay first (R2500). NO paperwork as we completed the forms once before and all our details were on the system. Hubby made his deposit in a room there (@09h00 no waiting). We were then told that they will now wash and select the swimmers and that we should come back in and a half. So we went back a couple of minutes earlier than 1.5 hours. I was take in immediately and made comfortable. FS came in exactly on time and told that they got less swimmers than they hoped for (normally they get about 5 million and with hubby they only got 3 million) but he said that it is 1 million more than the previous treatment and that it is enough.... it only takes one...! After procedure which took like 5 min, I was told to lie down for 15 min (on my back and bum slightly elevated). We were then told to BD that night and the night after for good measures. I was also put on progesterone Utrogestan for 2 weeks (1 morning and night) and then to carry on as normal and do a blood test 12-14 days later. So all in all my procedure went VERY smoothly. And it was successful. When I tested positive, FS recommended to stay on the Utrogestan till our 6 week scan, after the 6 week scan, he told me to carry on with it till 8 weeks (which is the 10th of March and I cannot wait)

Just a heads up. My medical aid did cover my FS consultation for the procedure but not the Fertomid, Menopur, trigger shot and lab fees. BUT my medical does cover the Utrogestan, but you can only get 30 tabs in 30 days, I use 2 boxes in 30 days as I have to drink 1 in the morning and 1 at night. SO it is Medical aid for 1 box and my pocket for the 2nd one. BUT it is still all worth it as it makes the environment perfect for implantation and to make that bean sticky!

WELL done with your promotion and increase! I am sure that you most definitely deserved it! It is a month of good news for you! I can just feel in my bones!

@ Morgan, my heart was in my throat reading that you had to wait long before been helped as I know the cut off time for the swimmers is 1hour. So glad that everything has worked out as you have taken such a long and draining path but soon you will have your BFP and maybe even the twins that you want. What an exciting time and that is great that you got a good job opportunity and a salary increase as you might need it buying two of everything

Ladies, I am stealing a few minutes to write this post as I just HAVE to tell you guys about yesterday. SO, SO sorry to have freaked you all out by being so quiet! I have just been so busy catching up at work etc. and yesterday was just hectic!!

So, our appointment for hubby to make his 'deposit' at Pathcare was changed from 7 in the morning to 8. Not a huge deal but when we got there after being told to already have the 'deposit' in the bottle we were met with a room full of people waiting to be helped. So, we waited, keeping the deposit warm, we waited some more and then realized that people weren't sitting in a queue or nothing. Whoever jumps up first when the people call 'next please' is the ones that are helped.

Finally jump up and get in line then the guy says 'But where's your paperwork? 'Paperwork?' We ask, confused. 'We weren't given any paperwork.' 'This is supposed to be done in the private rooms, not here in the reception.' He tells us. 'I'll tell the Sister and she'll have to help you. Go take a seat.'

By this time, the swimmers have been in the bottle of nearly 20 minutes. Anything over 1 hour and they aren't suitable for IUI. So, we wait some more. By the time we are finally called, the sister also asks us for our paperwork. I flipped. I told her that she realises we've been sitting her for nearly 30 minutes and that EVERYTHING is based on a schedule and that the schedule and procedures were never explained to us.

She was then very quick to help us and to get everything in order. Freaking paperwork. All that was filled in was one page with hubby's name on and a sticker pasted on it.

Then, we were told that 2.5 hours later, we had to be at another hospital where there's another Pathcare where the IUI procedure is done. We were there on time and then we were told that we just had to wait another 20 minutes because the other procedure was still taking place.

So, we waited and then finally went in. Then we waited while my gynae was called to come do the procedure. She arrived and then told us that hubby's sperm has a good count, nothing wring, all looks good so that will be beneficial to the procedure. He was VERY pleased with this news.

Hubby did, however, take one look at the syringe and plastic pipe used for IUI and I saw his eyes widen and he looked at me and asked 'Is that it?!' Shame.

Procedure was done, was a little uncomfortable but nothing drastic. Was then told to lie on my tummy for 20 minutes. Thought that was weird as I read you have to lie on your back with legs in the air but, ok. Gynae knows what she's doing.

Now, I have to start drinking progesterone tablets from tomorrow so that the embryos can stick and grow properly in the womb. I'll only be able to HPT on 21 March as I have to wait 16 days since procedure.

So, that's the WHOLE story. Currently in tww (well, nearly)

Ladies, was also given a senior post at work with more responsibilities and more work. Also got a salary increase for which we are EXTREMELY grateful. Don't know if I'll be coming on here so much as I really have been given SO much more work to do. I swear I'll check in whenever I have a breather and of course when I have some good news to share!!!

Hi everyone

So glad its almost weekend Well AF just started after the longest cycle ever We really though me been so late might mean something but my body though it would be so funny to play the fool!

Oh well hubs is off to the specialist next week and me the following, so it can only get better from here.

How is everyone doing? Sorry I have been so quiet, just popped in to check how everyone is.

I'm on CD20 today, did all we could during my fertile window seeing as I was away. So its probably TWW for me now. I didnt continue with the OPK's, just figured it would be a waste and I would be disappointed if I get a + OPK and I'm not with DH. Anyways we will see what happens.

@Sinolwethu - Hubby and I take Staminogro. We take 2 a day. No side effects for us. According to my research its suppose to help with egg quality and increase sperm count and mobility. I really think its a great Vitamin overall. GL
