Oh @Jooste - I am so sorry for your loss! My heart aches with you! Praying that the bloods will give you an idea of what is going on. Strongs, girl!

@EMJ, I know that those blood tests are very expensive. I went for a full workup before my visit to the FS, and paid R3000 +. Depending on your medical aid, there will also be a payment that has to be made by you. My pathology benefit per year is very small, so that sucks. The diet and weight loss thing works very well. I lost 22kgs in 2015, and I plan to lose another 20kgs this year, if possible. My insulin resistance normalized and my blood glucose lowered dramatically. I wasn't pre-diabetes yet, but was close to that...

AFM, I tested this morning on 11dpo, CD 26. It was negative. I feel so demotivated or demoralized today. It is such a big disappointment. I was so sure that this is going to be our month. I am trying very hard to be positive...

(If this post is too long for you to read please just see the last paragraph LOL)

Thanks so much for all the good luck's for today - we were early so I opened the forum just before we went in and this will sound so corny but it really felt so nice to read the well wishes just before going in - because we haven't really shared our journey thus far with anyone it can get a bit lonely!

@Jooste - I'm so sorry for your loss! Thinking of you & I hope the blood tests will bring all the answers needed to make the next bfp the sticky!

AFM : I am so happy with the doctor I chose - she won't be able to be my doctor once we do conceive because its 90mins from our home and not covered by my medical aid - but for now, for this scary part and first visit ever, I could not have asked for better. On the sonar all was normal, she did say she thinks I ovulate early based on the size of the egg currently maturing but thats not a problem and I seem to also have enough eggs. She doesn't suspect any blocked tubes but thats something that's only seen with more invasive tests later on if we struggle for a while.

So will be waiting for the pap smear results and also for hubby's sperm analysis results. He is on blood pressure meds and she said that is one thing that could cause sperm issues so if the results aren't positive, she'll start by changing his meds.

And the biggest thing - we need a major diet and weight loss change - which we realise and have been working on.

I have to go to the pathcare in town for bloods - a whole list of things she wants to test and : cholesterol (which I asked for), insulin resistance, rubella, to check if ovulation happened, one or 2 other things - ladies do you have any rough idea of costs I could be expecting? I'm aiming for another lovely couple of 0's but would be great to have a rough idea what some of your blood test costs were in the past?

Thanks!

@Anzel - I love your positive attitude!! You go! I think it is natural for husbands to worry about the finances but if you are both hard working then i am sure it will be fine:) Just ask for God's constant guidance during your journey and all will work out fine.

@Jooste - Im so very sorry to hear about your loss! I hope that your bloodwork can give you some answers! Sending you loads of hugs and love xx Im so hoping that we can be successful on our first cycle... This is so emotionally draining.

Hey everyone
Sorry - !

I have been MIA for a while. Things have not been that great. I managed to fall pg again on the Femara - BFP on 4th Febr, but it was a chemical pregnancy and I miscarried on Saturday. I went for full blood workup today (R1800!!), as the FS feels that it might be my hormones that is mixed up and that is why my body is not supporting the pg once I've conceived. Emotionally I am really batteling at this stage. Going through a MC is horrible, but going through it twice in 3 months is really really hard.

Now - lets do some personals:
Anzel: :woohoo: I'm really crossing my fingers for you!!!!!
Chanti: It would be wonderful if you have a few eggies to freeze, but if not - that it not a problem. We fell pg with only 1 embie being placed back. It can be done!
Nikita: Yip! Nothing like those hot flushes!! DH likes that though - I end up going to bed with less clothes as my cycle progress, as the hot flushes are at their worst around CD5-8.
EMJ: Can't wait to hear how your appointment went.
SS: Have you tested again?

@Chanti - I am also quite hopeful that our miracle is close. I am expected it with anticipation. If not this month, then definitely in the next two months. Before the end of 2016, our baby will be here. I am really hoping and praying and expecting this to happen this year. I have that excited anticipation in me for the last two weeks. Nothing about this cycle is normal, compared to other cycles. So maybe we will get our suprise sooner than we think! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Anyway, hubby is way calmer now that a few weeks ago. He is concerned about finances and whether we can afford a baby now. But I assured him that we will make a plan. He then agreed to try again until the end of this year, then we will call it quits. Now I'm really praying that it happens before then. Hubby is also a bit freaked that I might fall pregnant with twins. I was part of a twin and I'm on clomid, which ups our chances of twins. If this cycle is unsuccessful, I'll up my dose for clomid to 150mg. I don't mind twins - He said only one pregnancy, so if one pregnancy gives us two babies, then we'll be done and our children won't be alone. :P
