Trying for a 2016 baby

(TMI) After we BD'ed last night I actually put a pillow underneath my bum so I was a bit tilted probably stayed like that for about 30/40 minutes. Will do that again tonight
I actually forgot to bring opk's with to work today, but I assume with the drop in my bbt and the EWCM that it is a good sign so far.

@ Carien, you must be glad that you took the early OPK test to see the positive. I get way to bored keeping still after BD and usually get up after 5 min or so

@JB01 - yes, am on CD13 today and I think i ovulated some time during the night (might have already been CD 13 when I ovulated). If I did ovulate on CD12 that is a first for me, have never ovulated that early, earliest I have ever noted was on CD13, so that is why I was so surprised to get a +OPK yesterday. I generally dont have the surge for long, so I was not expecting a + today, just thought I would test and see since this cycle is different than the previous ones.

Anyhoo, I did lay still for about 2 hours after we BD-ed on wednesday but then had to get up for my son, so felt some (maybe not all) of the swimmers 'escaping' out...(TMI, sorry). Then yesterday morning(ish) I think I felt the rest of them heading out, so hoping a few of those little guys did make it in thru the cervix and were/are waiting for the eggie

@ Carien, maybe you did ovulate during the night but your temp should've shifted today or maybe tomorrow morning so keep a eye out for it. So you are on CD13 today and think you ovulated last night on CD12?

I think its the strong ones that are still able to linger there waiting for the eggy, but I think the max will be 3 days or so before they die off. I think its depends on the quality of the sperms? All too confusing for me

AFM, I received a OPK+ on CD13, CD14 and today CD15 as well. Have only the slightest CM and very faint twinges now and again but nothing like the last previous cycles. I am not sure when I am going to ovulate, so I bought another pack of 5x OPK's and will keep on testing till I get a negative. Maybe all this time I have been ovulating later than I thought? Who knows

@CarienM - Sorry for the negative test. I think keep on bd'ing in anyway. It only takes one...

Yes they say the spermies can live for that long, but yes, it does not help if they dont stay up there. When the doc did the IUI I had to lay down for 15 minutes. He put the cathether inside my uterus and released the little bit of spermies in there. (Remember hubby has a very low low count). They say after sperms were washed - they are alot stonger, and swim for up to 72 hours. Not sure how that works. But yes, no wonder it is so difficult to get pg.

So I got a negative test today, not really surprised by that one, I felt the ovulation cramps last night, so maybe I ovulated somehwere in the night? But my temp didnt really confirm so I dont know. Just know that if I only started testing today like I thought I would, I would totally have missed the surge and everything would have been off. Anyway, I tested and we did BD wednesday night, so hopefully there were still a few swimmers there ready and waiting.

OK next part is a bit TMI -

So with regard to the swimmers, I understand they can live for 3-7 days (depending on what information you read) but seriously, its not like they stay up there...if you know what I mean, I mean you lay still and try to keep them there for as long as you can, I guess you just have to hope that a few of them make it thru the cervix and get to the sweet spot to catch the eggie. I guess when they say that the swimmers can live for that long, it only really refers to the ones left in there...would you agree?
