Simone, your HCG levels double every 48 hours... Now my thinking is is that your results must have been just below 5mlU/ml, if they did indeed do a quantitative test. So if you did it on Friday, it would have been between 8 or 10mlU/ml on Sunday so should be at at least 15mlU/ml today.

But this still doesn't make sense because most HPT only pick up HCG at 20mlU/ml, so your HCG must have been around there when you P'dOAS. This is puzzeling me beyond belief. PLEASE go and test again.

Let's work this out quickly. When did hubby get back? And what CD were you on when he got back?

"Caution must be used in making too much of hCG numbers. A normal pregnancy may have low hCG levels and result in a perfectly healthy baby. The results from an ultrasound after 5 - 6 weeks gestation are much more accurate than using hCG numbers"

oh Ilse I went on Friday for bloods....today is only 4 days later so dont want to go too early.

I'm thinking back now...with Addison my LMP was 16th January. I tested on 26th Feb (HPT+) and 27th February, bloods showed 3-4w pregnancy. Now Vix and I had exact same LMP yet her due date was 1-2 weeks ahead of mine....so thinking now I obviously have a longer cycle if on 'CD40' I was only 3-4 weeks.

Normal people would be 3-4 weeks around CD28-CD30 I assume.

I'm on CD38 now, so perhaps best to wait it out until the end of the week?

Ilse I called a lab now and they insisted they cant give me the results, I must get it through the GP/Gynae.

I didnt ask about a hard copy though if I collect it. Will ask them when/if I go test again.

Simone - if you pay cash (not through your MA and not requested by your dr) for a pregnancy blood test, the lab must give you the results. Go to the lab where you did it and demand the results - they must give you a printed paper with all the details on it. They won't give it to you over the phone.

But stop keeping us and yourself in the dark! Go for another test please! The suspense is killing me, although I do believe you are pregnant.

Sh and I am told that by 2 friends in JHB that if you pay cash you get the results directly!!! Why the heck its not the same here in PE I dont know!

I mean seriously...its a freakin pregnancy test...not HIV or a test for cancer that is sensitive info. Maybe a minor has to go through a doctor so doc can discuss their options, but I'm a grown a$$ married women!

Ag it makes me mad.

After losing my twins, when the social worker came to see us in the hospital, she told me one true thing - that from now on I must stand my ground. A receptionist isn't a trained and qualified doctor, so they are not at liberty to give us information. Yes, maybe if the doctor told them to, but I have made myself the promise that I will listen to my own gut, and if something doesn't feel right, I will speak up and even get a 2nd opinion if necessary!

Simone...I think you should just phone the lab, that is your results, you paid for it!!! Why is our own information so classified to us? Here in my town the lab is also very strict, they only do bloods if you have a paper from the doctor...
