Skai the bloods will confirm that you are definitely pregnant and give you a HCG count which indicates how many weeks you are.
It is good to have 2 of these done a few days (or a week) apart to ensure the count is rising.
So you could do one soon and another a week later just to make sure it's a viable pregnancy with regards to the count rising.

Thanks everyone Still a little bit in shock...honestly was expecting it to take up to a year (or more...) It's still such early days that I'm just going to take it one day at a time...

Meags - thought about going for bloods but not sure if I will. If I just went once-off would they be able to tell if the levels are normal or does one have to go for a second test to make sure levels are raising normally? Otherwise thought I'd just wait and see...

I plan on going the private midwife route so don't want to rush off to my gynae. I plan on booking a viability scan for 8 weeks (if I get there...fx) at a clinic that does 3D/4D scans etc.....much more cost effective than a gynae visit!

But all in all, feeling good so far
