Ok looks like Ilse and my post coincided. Her explanation of the Ovidrel shot definitely makes more sense then mine

Deja, CD is cycle day. CM is cervical mucus. Ovidrel shot is given to assist O (ovulation) Pretty much you would go to the doc during your cycle and they will scan your ovaries to see if there is a follicle, you get the shot and within 24 or 36 hours (cant remember exactly) you ovulate.

Other abbreviations

HPT - home pregnancy test
FMU - first morning urine
DPO - days past ovulation
OPK - Ovulation predictor test

Deja - some of the abbreviations:

CD - cycle day
CM - cervical mucua
EWCM - egg white cervical mucus
2WW - two week wait
BD - baby dance
DH - dear husband

Can't think of anymore now that you won't know.

An ovridel shot is used to trigger ovulation. It is usually used in conjunction with clomid or fertomid (meds to boost follicule production) and then the trigger shot is given when the follicule is the right size to force ovulation. This is done by your doctor and is called a monitored cycle.

Justine, that place you booked sounds divine. I am going on holiday in December for the first time in SEVEN YEARS. Crazy, I know. SO it is long overdue!

Hmmm, Klk, sort of all of them. Someone spoke of CM and CD now and I had no idea what that was. Think I'm going to leave the whole tempting thing for now. Will just BD around ovulation time and see what happens. And also, what is an Ovidrol shot?

Hello Patricia,

Im fairly unscientific about TTC'ing at the moment, so cant be much help.
My casual approach to TTC will Im sure take a swing towards the scientific approach if things dont work for me this month. Im not the most patient person in the world, so Im already thinking about buying a thermometer!
