Doesn't it sort of leave you speechless when you look around and see how many kids are standing in the backseat - standing in the middle section between the front seats - sitting on the front lap with mom - sitting/standing on the front seat - without seat belts.

Honestly my brain cannot comprehend it - I drop my kids off at school in the morning and most of the kids arriving at the school are sans seat belts.

Driving through the traffic to my kids' schools and my office - most of kids I see are not strapped in.

It totally does my head in.

is there a site wher you can read up on how to strap your baby in, i worry that Gaby will come out of her seat as she has a good seat but can sometimes get her arms out over it. maybe it needs to be tighter, i must check when i get home.

I think my pregnancy porride brain has never improved. Yesterday I put James into his car seat in the house (he is still in his infact seat), then put him in the car. I was 100m down the road when I glanced in me reveiw moror and realised that although he was in his seat in the car, I had forgotten to strap the seat in! Thank goodness I hadnt gone far before I realised!!!!

I agree with the importance of a car seat and to buckle-up. Glad that you and you LO are fine.

We have been in a car accident in February this year, we hit a pothole and the car rolled! Luckily Luwan was in his car seat strapped in, and me and my husband was also buckled in. We didn't even had one scratch or any bruises. The car was written off! I was terified after the car came to a standstill... I jumped over the seat to the back just to see if Luwan was ok! He started crying - then I knew he was ok!

I get so angry when I see people with kids in the car, not buckled in or standing on the back seat, looking backwards. Some people just don't care.

So glad you are both okay.

Yip, a car seat is far more important than a pram or a feeding chair. It should be the first item any prospective parent buys

So glad you and your LO are alright Juno. It must have been a terrible experience, it is frightening how quickly and unexpectedly these things happen. Although I do always buckle up, it is good to be reminded why we do it. Thanks.
