Thanx Sarah.I'll make it a point to say goodbye in the mornings.I did just that this morn.Maybe I let my mom get away with too much.He is my lb after all and he trusts me to know whats best for him.Which age group do you teach?

You are very lucky to have your mom look after your lo!
But you need to set your boundries with her so that she knows where she stands and let her know in a nice way what you like and dislike - otherwise it might just get harder to deal with as your lo grows older. They grow up so fast and when we as parents have to work we miss out on so much - so take every opportunity to kiss and cuddle your little one - before you know it they will be all grown up and not want to be kissed and cuddled anymore :(

I can understand that with every caregiver there is a bit of a fite.... and i am sure there will always be a bit of a misunderstanding but girl you are so lucky i would give anything to have my mother or mil looking after my LB, but for me thats not possible and i had to go the creshe route and my baby has been in the hospital 5 times in 5 months..... if she is overstepping your boundaries, talk to her about it!

I can't answer all your questions - but in all my years of childcare and teaching ALL kids have to adjust to whichever carer/school they are at on Monday mornings so it is NOT just your child! Mondays are usually harder days as the child adjusts from weekend mode but that comes with the territory. And please say goodbye to your baby when you leave - I would insist on a love and a cuddle then hand him to granny and leave. Its a much healthier way to start the day even if he cries for a short period, he will know you've said goodbye and are coming back and have not just disappeared!

I know my lb is in the best care and safe with my mum.But... It's as if she's competing with me.The 1 day I was trying to put him to sleep, she wanted to literally take him from me coz she can do it quickly.DH and I ike to spend weekends at home with lb so on a monday its as if he must now get used to her again,he doesnt respond to her as usual. She then says she doesnt know what we are doing to him coz hes not the same after the weekend.I dont say bye to him in the mornings coz when I try to she distracts him by standing behind me then hell look passed me at her.Shes always one upping me,she wants to do things her way.Its irritating but she doesnt notice.Any1 having similar experiences?
