I have a steroid ointment, which my dermatologist prescribed when I was struggling with it on his body, but now that I know which products to use its been okay. She told me to not use it regularly because its a steroid. Advantin should never be used continuously for longer than 4 weeks in children - it actually says that on the pack insert:)

It seems better today, I've been using the woolies bum cream on his chin:) Am seriously considering one of those teething necklaces to see if it helps minimize his drooling like I have been told by others that it does!

My baby whom is almost 10 months old suffers with eczema around his mouth. Proberly aggrivated by the drool. My paed perscribed Advantan cream. She said that I should use it twice a week. I was a bit nervous of using it so frequently so I only apply when the eczema rears its ugly head and that works well for me.

Trust me I have used everything from Vasiline to Sudocrem, Bepanthan etc etc and only the Advantan helped.

Also just to add that Advantan is a cortizone cream and it is proberly bad to use daily as apparently the eczema will eventually no longer react to the cream and you will have to use a stronger cortizone.

Plain old vaseline or bum cream to keep out the moisture is the safest to use everday...just apply after every feed

I use the advantan on my boy's body but not on the face as it is too strong...so for the face (if it is bad) I mix mylocort with aqueous cream.

Hope this helps.
