Thanks Claudia. 5 days I can deal with - just worried this is going to become a permanent thing! I'm gonna take him to the clinic on Monday of he's still doing it. Just worried it might be an ear infection.

1st timer, seriously I think it must be a stage?? My james is STILL doing the same thing (although last night he only woke 2 times before six, which is a huge improvement), so thats been about 5 nights now. The only difference is that I havent noticed him spiking a temp or having a green poo? Otherwise his bedtime routine hasnt changed, he is happy during the day etc.. I cant feel any teeth, but everyone keeps telling me he must be teething:(
(My James is not having 3 meals a day yet either so its not the food....)
Scribblingals baby did this for a week or too and then stopped, so I'm just hoping whatever is the matter will go away on its own:(

(I did read on the laleche site that often at this age babies start practicing new skills at night and it makes them less likely to sleep through but that it willpass...)

PS I Am exhausted!!!

Sorry meant to add he is drooling a lot and has slightly flushed cheeks but is not chewing on his hands much.

He's not rubbing his ears or anything and is quite happy in the day.

Sorry about the essay!!

Please can you ladies help me and tell me what you think is going on with our little guy

On Sunday he woke up at 1am and then continued to wake up every hour until 6am when we gave up. He had to do the full Monty (rocking & lullabies) to get him to sleep

Monday morning he had slightly green poop and no temp. By Monday midday his temp was 36.9 under the arm. I gave him Calpol and after his 45min nap his temp was normal. He has not had a temp or green poop since then. I phoned the clinic and they said not to worry unless his temp was 39-40.

Monday night we tried vidol as we thought he might be teething. He slept til 3, I bfed him and then he continued to wake hourly. He had no temp on Tues.

Last night again slept til 3 (I did 2 dummy runs at 1 and 2 when he'd managed to turn himself crossways in the cot and was whacking it both ends). I fed him at 3 and then he continued to wake hourly.

He is happy an cheerful in the day and there 's been no change to his day routine. He does 1h30 to 2h awake and 40min asleep. This has been his routine for almost a month now. He has also been sleeping straight 7-6 for over a month.

He is on 3 solid meals a day and bfed every 3-4hours in the day. He's a big guy (10kg and 70cm) which is why we started a bit young. Sunday was day 3 of apple but I don't think the apple is the issue.

Do you think this is teething? Growth spurt? He is very hungry at 3am and he used to still be ok at 6am. But then why is he waking hourly after I feed him?

We are quite anti sleep training although our resolve is softening rapidly at this point! He will be 6m in 10 days.

Oh and we have a bedtime routine he's been on since 6w, he's swaddled, not cold or hot and has a white noise cd.

Thanks!!
