I have heard this phenomena of women becoming very sensitive to violence and agresssion or suffering from other moms as well.

I really would love to know how this works...I guess it is a mothers protective instincts kicking in. I guess we were designed to be this way. If only men roamed this earth, it would probably be a very nasty aggressive place?

It is just such an exteme change in my personality that it really freaks me out! I have really watched the most violent and disturbing movies before and now I cry if I watch "finding Nemo".

?? Will it ever return to the way it used to be (moms with older kids please let me know)?

I must say any violence on TV where there's blood or anything involving the spiritual world I cannot tolerate since becoming a mom.

We used to watch Dexter and Supernatural and I just cannot stomach them anymore. Poor DH just cant understand but I have nightmares about it. Its almost like I've become more sensitive so that I can relate better with my baby's needs.

I'm also way more picky about where we go, for how long etc. And if she's been difficult / teething etc I will cancel plans without any shame.

Hectic, I know what you ladies mean about violence and children - and animals as well - can't stomach it at all!

I never use to eat apple crumble before I was pregnant, but I started eating it while I was pregnant and now I still love it.

And yes, what's with the coffee thing - me too!

The last shocker we watched about children suffering, was
"grave of the fireflies" (cult classic)

www.imdb.com/title/tt0095327/

It was about the children trying to survive in Japan, World war II.

The whole movie was about these 2 kids (orphans) living in a cave,
trying to stay alive. The youngest died eventually (a slow death).
The movie was based on true life events, which made it worse.

We had no idea it would be like schindler's list times 1000!

From now on, my husband has to do a search on any movie to check the review, before I get upset for like 2 weeks again.

Weird how motherhood changes you.

I hear you Memo and Gloeiwurmpie. With me its not so much the violence, but shows or movies where kids are sick or worse dying. Before I obviously thought it was kinda sad, but now I would sob, sob I tell you..... :(
