is your 1y old sleeping through?

Hi ladies,

I guess I should consider myself lucky. My daughter has been sleeping through the night since she was two months.

She sleeps in her cot in her own room.

We'll give it a try & see...but I keep imagining all sorts of things (won't go into detail ) It's not going to be easy but we'll see...

Elamsmom, my little girl slept in our room in a campcot as she had reflux and we didn't want her to sleep in her own room in case something happened during the night. She is a light sleeper (takes after her mommy), and I was getting up 4-5 times a night...sometimes more. And then one day it just hit me that we were the ones disturbing her sleep! My hubby snores and I am a toss 'n turner.

So I decided to put her in her cot in her own room and she is sleeping much much better than in our room. Even when she is sleeping in our room (due to illness or just because) I find she is more restless in our room.

So maybe you are disturbing her sleep a little

Last night had a terrible night. LG slept around 8:30pm and by midnight she was up (as is usual lately) wanting to be picked up and put in our bed but my DH was adamant that this has got to stop. So after letting her cry for about 15 minutes he got up & was all firm with her putrting her down and giving her a bottle. She just cried louder and louder. & I had to watch and do nothing cos I don't want us to send her different messages when it comes to discipline but it was HARD!!! I just wanted to pick up my baby and put her in bed next to me.

Anyway, the saga continued with DH getting more and more agitated and baby crying louder and louder. After a while DH took her to the spare bedroom and put her in the bed by herself. Then she slept and woke up at about 6:30 am this morning.

Is sleeping in our bedroon what is waking her up at night??? We are going to try to move her cot to her own bedroom tonight and see...but the thought of my little baby sleeping all by herself is kinda scary for me...we'll see how it goes...

Stumzaa my son's sleep also went a little haywire when I went back to work - he was 4 months. I've heard that sleep often changes at this age, but I think my son was reacting to my return to work. He also wasn't feeding as well. Although he still doesn't sleep through that desperate clinginess at night got better after a few weeks.

Of course that seems to have returned now that he's experiencing separation anxiety from me.

my lg is 5months and used 2 wake up once or twice for a feed but since i`ve gone back to work two weeeks ago she constantly wakes up crying and i have to feed her sometimes hold her then she`ll fall back asleep ,this happens from about 21:30 till after midnight .could it be separation anxiety ?

Hi Patty, I think someone mentioned that the plain epsom salts will dry out the skin - so I use the Kiddy-Calm salts (which contains fragrance and some oils in order not to dry out the skin)

I use it just before she goes to bed as we get home quite late in the evenings - so early baths are unfortunately out for me

I would say use it at the normal bath time and see how it goes.
If you don't see a difference then try bathtime a bit later?
