file What worked for you with teething?

I give Benjamin a big stick of biltong to chew on, and I have rubbed brandy on his gums with my finger, which also numbs the area and works like a bomb when he is in serious pain. He doesn't get drunk or pass out..
I find what works best is chewing, to be honest, and apparently it helps the teeth come out. Ben also chews on his dummy, and sometimes I dip it in panado syrup and it also seems to numb his gums, instead of giving him the full 2.5ml.

Good luck!

I have been using Prodol and now my almost 7 month old must really be cutting a tooth. So Nurofen/Ponstan/Stopain...what should I get?

Prodol definitely the best for topical use!
And alternate between ponado / ponstel & nurofen for pain management.
I must say that so far (touch wood!) we havent had a bad teething experience. Kaylee is currently cutting 3 teeth at the moment, and hardly a niggle from her.
She has a baltic amber teething necklace and I imagine it may be helping!

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

My poor little guy is teething so badly :(
I found pansarol and teegel to be useless but prodol works like a bomb during the day if he is just irritated. But when he is in pain I was giving him vidol and from yesterday started giving him a little neurofen syrup - that worked really well.
I also find ice in the fresh food mesh feeder is a good teething toy and then he loves to chew on his rubber toothbrush!

It really bugs me because he'll pull on his ear - I think its from teething but then he cries and seems so upset so I make a doctors appointment. But then he is much better so I cancel the doctors appointment! :P I want clarity in case its an ear infection but his ear tugging is intermittant, surely with an ear infection he would be sore all the time?

Anyway, I need to book his 9-month jabs so I will ask the nurse to check him when we go.

Good luck Ann!

Mandyb - congrats!

I was a bit frustrated because we are currently living abroad and i was not familiar with their brands but 'Bonjela' works for my little one.

My little one started teething at 3 months so i was a bit desperate. She has 4 teeth and is 6 months old.

At the moment with eye teeth cutting I'm only rubbing dynexan on her gums. Works well enough for us and she has a teething necklace
