Mina i've come so close to slapping 3 paeds when they said only time will heal!!! ARGH thats the last thing you want to hear when you're surviving on 2 hours sleep a night!
The only advice I can give is to try a homeopath. Our homeopath mixed up drops which really did help Kade. But like with most colic medicine - it only helped for about 2 weeks and then stopped working.
Do you use Bennets? Do you give her anything before bedtime? Do you heat up a bean bag and put it on her tummy while she's asleep?
Chan, She wakes up every 45min. I feel like a such a bad mom because I cant do anything to make her feel better.
I phoned the pead yesterday and he was not in so his partner phoned me back, when I said that the Losec isnt working he said that there are many babies that go through cramps on this stage and that there is nothing I give here that will really work just have to let time go by cause she will outgrow it.
At that moment I felt like swearing at him cause how could you tell a mom that doesn't sleep for 2 hours at a time to just wait it will pass.
I am so glad that Kade is doing better with the cramps. Good luck with the ears. Hope the docter will help you soon.
Shame I know exactly how you feel. I've been so close to the edge a few times and it's not nice.
Does she wake up many times during the night?
Kade is 6.5 months old now and his tummy does seem to be getting better at night. Just hoping to sort his ears out now because that's a bigger problem than his tummy at the moment!
I couldn't bwlieve that there could be someone with the same problem as mine.
Bernice is now 5.5months old and started with the same symptoms on 5 months. Such a happy baby during the day and the same cramps during the night. I took her to the ped and he put her on losec. On that for 2 weeks now and no improvement.
I feel like I can go and sit in the corner and cry till I feel better but thats not gonna help.
I think it is wind causing the cramps. During the day she is in a sitting position so all the air is coming out during the day, but at night it gets stuck inside. But believe me I dont know what to do about it.
She is still on the breast and I am thinking of taking her of to use some kind of colic bottles. On what is Kade?
Um lets just say we've really been on a roller coaster ride the last few weeks!
Firstly Kade is very chesty and snotty all the time so it means nebuliser and cortisone etc etc for the last few weeks!
Then we went to another paed who was adamant his hernia needed to be looked at by a surgeon as it could be causing the tummy problems. So we had to have an ultrasound done on his abdomen and kidneys. They found that a piece of his bowel is inside the hernia basically sticking out his tummy. We then met with a surgeon on Monday. He is not prepared to operate until Kade is 18 months to 2 years old. He said even though the bowel is inside the hernia it is not dangerous and cannot cause any pain or colic like symptoms.
And then we took him to an ENT specialist and he's got loads of fluid behind his ears. If it hasn't cleared up in 2 weeks they'll need to put grommets in!
So it's been one hell of a month but at least we're finally getting somewhere now!
