We went to our first class on Monday and I loved it :)

There are kids of different ages so its hard to compare so everyone just carries on with their child!

I did find the singing a little silly but D told me to suck it up and sing for my child :P

The last 10/15 min were spent having tea and moaning about our husbands - was great

Just as a word of caution, Ted Bundy used to meet people along a similiar method.

No, not talking about baby poop.

But being friendly, engaging and chatting to people.

I am not suggesting you are related to Ted, or you will find Ted at a playground, but be safe before you start skipping off with strangers who appear to like your swagger.

@Dimi...baby poo is a HUGE issue...APPARENTLY. Never quite got what the big deal is and I'm often in such a rush to get the poo-nappy changing thing done that I have no time to be analysing it's colour & texture...but that's just me.

Now, as a responsible parent, i do get that it obviously can't be good for a baby not to poo for a week or whatever, but unless I see signs of illness or something, frankly, the less my LG poo's the better!

@Dimi: LOL @ "Are we supposed to be doing something with it? " Classic! :silly:

Dimi, may I commend you on not talking about your baby's poo. If you have not started, then please do not.

You might find it difficult however to make conversations in a lot of mom and baby groups, as for some reason poo/the colour/the rate seems to be quite The Topic amongst the Uterus set.

I have no idea why.

The only time I talk about poo is when I get it under my nails, and I realise it is not peanut butter.

There is a fine line between stalking and chatting to moms at parks. There appears to be an art to it, that escapes me.

But I have a friend who always meets moms and babies in parks and social areas. They get chatting and the next thing they are spooning.

I can't give you tips.

But my thinking is there are quite a few frustrated/lonely moms sitting at a park while junior eats sand and might enjoy some conversation.

Unfortunately you will need to start talking about Junior to get it started.

I tend to find screaming out something totally inappropriate like "pe.nis" or "scr.o.tum" or something of that ilk quickly seperates the pack.

But I would not really encourage that technique, as I have not really mastered it yet.

Keep on at Moomie, you can start PM moms soon and finding like minded people here, which might be a bit more sane than mommy and baby groups.

Good luck chick - you look really good for a 65 year old man with a TIK habit.

Elamsmom, reluctant mom, memo and 1st timer... thank you for your replies! I'm already feeling more hopeful that things will get better :)

Ok, so photo is up, now must figure out where to put info, but don't really have time today.

Have started looking into mom and baby classes, playgroups, etc. Let's what happens.

By the way, it seems that poo gets mentioned quite often in posts... why is that? Are we supposed to be doing something with it? I couldn't afford ante natal classes and am pretty clueless when it comes to babies (yes, still, after 7 months) so get used to me asking obvious questions. Anyway, I haven't once thought or talked about my son's poo since he was born, having to smell it when I change him is more than enough. Hope i'm not missing something here!
