Definitely the breast pump for me. Used Avent Manual pump with both my kids and will use it for the baby too.
Avent breastmilk containers...those things were cant do with out for me. Store your milk and use to freeze and store baby food. Awesomeness!!!

imska, I got mine from the-giggling-green-bean.com/cutie-cover-nursing-cover.html but I know you can get them now in SA. At the time I was living in Tanzania so I got a friend to get mine in the States. Shop around, make sure it has the "viewing bit". I use mine on the car seat, pram and all over!

Which brand was this breastfeeding cover? I have a little acrobat who likes exploring her environment when she feeds so covering her hasn't worked so far and if this really worked for you, i would like to see if i can get one for her

For me it was my breastfeeding cover that a friend bought in America. At almost $30, when the rand was at R8 a dollar, it seemed extravagant, but I have used it so much! And I still love it. I didnt have the time at the time to make one myself. When I am finished feeding my second child, I want to have it made into something special for myself, like a cushion cover, or memory bag.

The other thing is all the tupperware I have - both for when LO starts feeding, I am always cooking and keeping little bits for the kids, and there are little bits of left overs, as well as for playing with in the kitchen. Now that I am a SAHM and not working, I cant afford tupperware anymore, so I am glad I bought it when I could afford it! LOL

Other than that, I have made do without monitors, fancy prams, a friend thankfully loaned me a rocker (Nathan had silent reflux and we went through a terrible phase). Even expensive toys are a waste - a bunch of hellium balloons and a bubble machine are the best things at birthday time LOL

I thought twice about everything, and its amazing how little I got by on!

I do envy moms who can afford to do up a nursery, but for me, staying at home was more important, so oneday I hope to do the kiddies room up in a nice theme - hopefully when they can help choose the theme and help with the painting!

Jack is only 3 months so we are still figuring it all out but so far the things we cant live without are
