Babies sleeping through

Hi ladies

So...on Wednesday night my baby was very tense and would stiffen up when feeding to a point he would pull away from the nipple.

He was screeching then stopping...the next day I took him to the nurse at a local pharmacy who advised it could be reflux...today I took him to a pead...and yes it's reflux caused by his milk.

My LB has all the symptoms of an allergic reaction to cows milk.
He is on his first night of isomil and medication.

I have to keep him upright as often as possible and break his feeds so he digest proper without reflux.

So hello to more sleepless nights but I'm just glad my LB has been diagnosed and I can treat him.

So glad to hear I'm not the only one struggling with this. I dread the subject of "does your baby sleep through yet". Somehow people think there's something wrong with my 9 month old, because she's not sleeping through. I must admit that it does get tough at times. She's currently waking at least 5-8 times per night. We feed to sleep, which the paed says is the problem. Breaking that habit is near impossible without having a screaming baby at every wake up. I've tried it & I'm not willing to do controlled crying or cry-it-out. So we're happily dealing with the night pajama drill. My hubby also has a demanding job & I don't expect of him to do it often. Recently we've changed to him doing 2 nights a week, which is a great help to me.
My bub was born at 37 weeks by emergency C-section with no further complications. Only illness we struggle with is recurring ear infection, due to a congested nose. We're treating this. All the best mommy's. Hopefully we'll have sleepy babes soon.

It is not abnormal for a baby to want to fall asleep on your breast. Do not let people tell you otherwise! Both mine only fell asleep like that. I stopped fighting it long ago.

Is your baby comfy? Is the room dark? Did you try swaddling? Does she sleep in your room?

Try nursing lying down. That way you can rest while nursing.

I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time with your little one, i'm sure you must be finding it hard to adjust. As a first time mom, i found that in the beginning my little one would sleep more times but for shorter period ( 30 min) during the day and feed twice during night time. but it got better with time, by 3 months she was having one feed and now she has totally stopped waking up at night except when she's teething.

Do you have enough milk? is she not maybe getting hungry? This could be a reason why she's not sleeping. I know this can be difficult, please try and take naps when the baby sleeps just to recharge.

Hi ladies

I'm a first time mum, my baby is now 4 weeks old. He wakes uo every hour. He hardly sleeps during the day as well but when he does it's for 3 hour intervals.

Which is rare.

For a newborn he doesn't sleep much and I'm a zombie.

My hubby has a demanding job and I'm left to do the nights and days. I'm totally drained.

To add I'm sure my baby is forming a habit of only wanting to fall asleep at the breast...

Ms_s I don't know how you do it! I wish I had some advise but I really don't.

Unfortunately I'm one of those mommies NOT getting sleep at night! My LO was born full term, no complications or problems at all. He is almost 8 months now.

He sleeps at 7pm, I know this is early, but he gets really grumpy and moody after 7. We've tried keeping him up later but it makes no difference to he's sleeping pattern. Plus all the good series starts at 7

He will wake up at least twice before 10. Then sleep till 12 and wake up 3 or 4 times until 5:30pm, that's when dh gets up for work and there's too much activity to just sleep again. We co-sleep, and whenever he wakes up I breastfeed him. He does fuss quite a bit and will roll around for a good 10 minutes trying to find a good sleeping position.

This is a good night!

On a BAD night he will wake every hour on the hour, refuse to breast feed half the time, cry and basically demand all our attention
