Hi Antz,

Thank you for sharing. Shame man.

I also used a cortisone based cream (one of those that the pharmacist mixes for you at the doctor's prescription), and already this morning his tummy and legs are looking much better. I agree, you have to use it when it's that bad! And then just maintain inbetween.

I know my uncle uses Oilatum - he used to suffer from excema badly on the insides of his arms, and he told me that when you first start to use it it burns, but it is the ONLY thing that ever cleared up his eczema.

Good luck to you and your little one Antz!

HI Widget

I feel your pain... my little one's eczema also flares up whenever any type of infection or illness is imminent... She has a weakend immune system, called Nuetrapenia so is prone to infections and her body cant fight it...

Attached is a picture of the latest outbreak... we used the Advantan for 5 days ad it cleared it up beautifully... unfortunately it is cortisone based but we desperate as she was scartching badly...

I have attached an after picture too...

The Oilatum really does work for her in between these breakouts... touch wood this is the first one since i last posted here... It had cleared so beautifully... the rash on her legs is now totally gone..

Hello ladies,

I had my baby's eczema completely under control, even his head had cleared, and that was my biggest battle.

I was bathing him with Epizone A, and I still use SBR Repair cream (on his chin) and epimax and Milking cream. It was at a stage now where I could wash him with baby soap and he had no reaction. I thought, jey! he has outgrown it now like he has his reflux!

The last few days my poor little guy has been teething so badly - there are three teeth all coming at the same time! He has bad sour nappies, which causes him to get a terribly red and sore bum. I am doing everything I can to get it under control. I already used Kortavol (I think it's called) for the allowed 5 days because he had a few blisters. Now I'm having to use Medaspore and a cortisone cream to try and get it bearable for him, along with Sudocrem and maizena. I also give him a good probiotic every day.

And so I also yesterday noticed a bit of eczema appearing on his neck again and BAM this morning it is all over!! On his tummy, under his arms, on his neck...why on earth does this happen with teething?

Has anybody else had this experience? Does it pass when the teething passes? Will this keep happening every time he teeths? My heart breaks for him when he cries so much and I clearly see he is in pain.

Bathing in rooibos tea sounds like a brilliant idea, I will deffinitely give that a try.

I've seen the Annique baby lotion and other products at Baby City.

Can I be the unpopular one and ask about your babies diet? Usually, and I know some will disagree, eczema is an outward expression of an inward imbalance.

Yes, avoid parabens and SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) especially for girls in any products you wash with, the more natural the better.
