You can also get a 'Sophie the giraffe', it is more expensive, but apparently it's great for teething. My little boy is doing the drooling and chewing thing at 3.5 months so will be getting a Sophie soon

Amber teethling necklance is safe to sleep on it. My daughter sleep with it and it cease her teeething irritated and doesn't choke her at all. It almost 2weeks now that she have been wearing on Amber teething necklance.
My niece have been wearing this since 3months to 2yrs and 9months old 24/7. It safe.

I personally won't let my baby sleep with it during the night but some parents will & basically hardly take it off.

Thanks for the advice ladies. But with regards to the amber teething necklace...is it not a choking hazard for baby?

It definitely depends on each individual child. My bub cut her first tooth at 5 1/2 months & I could see the signs of teething for about a month before that. Now at 9 months, she has 8 teeth. It hasn't been too bad, but the first 2 were the worst by far. I've use the amber teething necklace. I'm not sure whether it works or not, but it's worth a try. Pansoral is great. If bub is in a lot of pain, I would recommend some panado, calpol or ponstan.
