Good idea about the bottle caps! I think I'm going to start collecting! We don't drink many soft drinks but I'll enlist my family and friends!

Does she like the stacking ring? I've been wondering if I should get him one.

Great idea Claire.

We also have some toys but B just doesn't play with them for very long. She also loves her stacking cups and we have a stacking ring.

But the thing she likes to play with the most isn't a bought toy. I save all the bottle caps from coke, milk, fanta etc bottles and place them in a ice cream container with a slit in the top - she loves throwing them out and putting them back in through the hole.

The other things she loves is her own (computer) mouse and magazines to destroy :)

Just as an example:

Colby loves these plastic colorful, stacking blocks. We can play for 20 minutes with them before he gets bored. I build a tower and he destroys it! I keep moving the tower, then he crawls and bashes it over. So it's good for gross motor and co-ordination, plus he is learning cause and effect.

Hi all,

There are hundreds of different toys on the market and I see most of them now say 9 month+. Problem is (and I'm sure you've had it too) sometimes you buy a toy you think your LO will love, bring it home and watch them play with it for a minute and never again.

I thought we could use this thread to share which toys our LO's are really enjoying so we know which ones are worth buying. I'm sure everything is educational at the moment but maybe we could mention what the toy helps to develop?
