My solution, my LO wakes up and I put him in bed with me. My hubby has no choice.
Now my problem - I'm trying to get my 4yr old out of my bed before the new baby arrives. When he wakes up in the middle of the night he gets into my bed.

Neil also does the bottle drill in the mornings. I guess I am very lucky. It was only when he had to look after Dylan for 4 days at 4 months that he realised just how hard it was. Dylan didn't sleep much and I think he thought I was loafing all day long. He never complained again after that.

Hubby and I discussed this before B was born and I told him flat out, if I wanted to be the only one doing everything for her then I would have been a single mom and it's never too late to change my mind!

As I am a stay at home mom, B is my job from 7:30 to 5 (or later if hubby is working late) but the moment he steps through the door she's our 50/50 responsibility.

She sits next to him when we eat (messy dining area - think I might leave it like that) he gives her her bath at 6:30 and dresses her for the night then I give her a bottle and put her in bed. If she wakes up between then and when we go to bed we take turns to check on her. Weeknights I get up then friday and saturday night hubby gets up for her.

Oh yes and he washes her bottles 70% of the time which is a bit of a shlep since he doesn't wash anything else but hey, who am I to argue!

Well he didn't want to go to bed alone last night so eventually he fell asleep at 10 which is so late. I will see what he is like tonight as he is back at school today and he is normally tired after such a busy day.

If last night is anything to go by it seems we may have to start again. The previous night was okay though so not sure.

Just when you think you know them.........

Haha Joli..I am SO doing that tonight!!! Never thought of it that way. Will let you ladies know tomorrow how it went :)

Julz, sorry to hear that Dylan is sick :( Is it easy to get him back into sleep routine after he's been sick or is it like starting from the beginning again?

I agree Joli. I must admit that Dylan slept in our room until 7 months and I had a rule. Nobody sleeps elsewhere. If you can sleep through the cries then lucky you but we are all in this together.

Alfies oh hello. YIp sorry no sleep training when sick.

Dylan has been sick this week and our whole sleep pattern is shot. Spoilt him and now we pay the price.

I've got the solution. Tonight when your baby wakes up, you get up and take her to your bed and put her nicely between the two of you while she is screaming and you feed and change her nappy if you need to right there. ;)

That's what I did! They can't ignore that.
