I see it says S5 on the bottle so it seems that you must get a prescription for it. It's was R56.21 for 100ml. You give 1ml at a time so 100ml should last quite some time if you only have one baby. I got it at Medi-Rite for that price.

Thanks Zeltjie, where do I find Maxolon and Aterax? on the shelf? expensive?
Went for a 2nd visit to the Chiro today. Apparently his elbow was out. Had another rough night yesterday...hopefully tonight will be more peaceful.

Mixture of Maxolon and Aterax - 1ml 4 times a day before meals.
I had my 4wk old twins at the doc today and he prescribed that. I must say it works like a charm! Last I've seen them this relaxed was when they were still in Nicu.
Good luck! The Telament drops didn't do much for them either. It's amazing for how many things Aterax works!

Hey Sal, congrats again on the birth of your little one, I am so happy for you.

I agree with the bennetts, it helps on the nights my little girl is cranky, norm between 6-9pm. Also i find white noise relax and gets her to sleep. Also as another poster commented, make sure he is sleeping during the day and not overstimulated.

Wish you all the best and looking forward to some pics!

No don't worry about the poo thing. If he is straining to go then you could use a glyserine supository but only start stressing if he has not gone after 2 or 3 days.

Ladies, I am armed with the Bennets. Waiting for him to wake up for his next feed at 18:30 to give him a dose. 8ish is normally a bad crying period and then again at 4am so will give him more during the night.

One very strange thing is that he hasnt had a poo nappy since midnight, so thats 15hours with no poo, since he was born every nappy had poo in it. Havnt heard a fart out of him either, which is very very strange. Should I be worried?

Hi Sal
My baby boy (he is 15months now, and btw the EASIEST baby in the world now!!) was the "colic baby of the year"! He had colic so badly,- or so I thought -!!
I tried, telement drops, some homeopathic drops that was a total waste of money, did the baby massage-thing, took him to the chiro, gave him bennets colic mixture, both colief and colix, buscopan, losec etc etc, the list just goes on and on! Obviously I only tried one thing at a time..!
NOTHING HELPED!! the bennets helped a bit, but I think the alcohol content in it just zoned him out and made him fall asleep. The chiro helped a bit.
The day when I put him on Soya milk, my baby changed from being impossible-impossible, to the happiest/easiest baby in the world!!! So, he obviously had a huge lactose problem. (you also find lacotse in breastmilk - as even my breastmilk made him sick!)I later confirmed this with a blood test.
I know some babies react really well on above meds, so unfortunately you have to figure out whats working for your LO. It might be that he is really just colicky and windy, but then usually medicines helps.
Good luck!!! I know SO well what you going through!!!!
