Tx Julz! I absolutely agree with you regarding the cough meds under the age of 2! Tx for pointing that out. We used a nebuliser with paediatric duolin drops to open the chest. When my son was older we used the cough meds.

Cough mixtures a big no no with children under 2 though. I would question any paed that gives a script for them.

I like to let a runny nose run. Saline is great for keeping the nose clear.

Runny nose: Demazin (0-12 mnths)
: Rinex (12 mnths and older)

Chesty cough: Bronchoped or Asthavent
Blocked nose: Nazo patches
Fever & pain: Ponstan and Empaped suppositories
Teething : Prodol and vidol
Bum cream : Bennets
Vitamin : Zinplex & tissue salts
