Hi all,

I joined the Reflux train yesterday. We have the 'silent' one. No projectile vomiting of excessive vomiting. We have the pain and constant crying. The diagnoses came as a huge suprise, I was more opting for colic. But after doc explained the other symptoms it all made sense. Brillliant paed!!!!!

We on Novalac AC, Losec, Gaviscon and Pro-biotics for 2 weeks then we review.

All I can say is that the world as I knew it changed yesterday...been reading up on reflux trying to understand it better and find ways to ease my spidermonkeys pain.

My LG got reflux at 10 months old... she is on losec at the moment which is helping. I also have to mush her food as anything lumpy makes her want to throw up. We have our good days and our bad days. She never had it before ... she somehow developed it later on. Its hectic to say the least...

Hi ladies,

My lo is still on the normal Nan, and I use Nestargel. Putting her in an upright position seems to working. She stills vomits but less than she did before.
I am happy with her progress thus far.

Hi Ronel, even with the AR forumulas/nestargel they still throw up it just isnt' as bad as when you weren't using it. My Lo has been on solids since 5 months and she still has days where she brings up! I would suggest to change to the NAN AR forumula as it thickens the milk a little more than ordinary nan. This is something that they have to outgrow - some are lucky and only have it for a couple of weeks or a few months, others could have it till they are 1 or 2 years old. And the washing of bibs & "spoegdoeke" never ends - once the reflux goes away or gets less, the drooling from teething starts!!! Good luck :)

My Lg is 12 weeks and also suffers from reflux, she is currently on the ordinary nan. She uses losec, mutiliam, ultrasanic and nestargel and none of these things seems to work. Even with the nestargel she still throws up. Shel sleep on a cushion that is elevated, she is kept upright for at least 30 min after feeds, she isn't burped to much etc etc. I can't keep up with all the washing of the bibs and "spoegdoeke". I don't know if I should change her milk to nan AR. When using the AR milk or even the nestargel how many vomitting is then considered normal?

Our LO also has reflux. We have him on the novalac AR as well as Losec. Thank goodness it is under control!!!
Another pointer - try not to let your LO sleep flat on her back - try keep her head slightly elevated.

GOOD LUCK!
