They’re packed with all kinds of nutrients to keep you healthy and full of energy. The bonus is that they’re perfect for drinking on the go!

 

Peanut butter and blueberry smoothie

This tasty smoothie will definitely become a firm favourite. The peanut butter will fill you up and give you energy, while the flax sees are a great source of fibre, antioxidants and essential fatty acids. This smoothie is especially good if you’re breastfeeding, as flax seeds are thought to improve milk production. 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ frozen banana, peeled
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 2 teaspoons ground flax seeds
  • 2 tablespoons smooth peanut butter

Method: 

Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

 

Spinach and strawberry smoothie 

This nutrient-rich smoothie is just what you need to give your day the healthy kick-start it needs. Strawberries are a great source of Vitamin C and antioxidants, while spinach is a superfood rich in protein, iron, vitamins and minerals. 

Ingredients

 

  • 2 cups water
  • ½ cup low-fat vanilla yoghurt
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • 2 cups fresh, chopped spinach
  • Honey

 

Method

Blend all ingredients, except the honey, together until smooth. Add honey to taste. 

 

Pineapple and cucumber smoothie

Picture yourself on a summery beach holiday as you sip away at this delicious smoothie. This one’s designed to keep you healthy. Cucumber is low in calories and has a high water content – great to keep you hydrated. It’s also thought to help prevent cancer and inflammation. Pineapples are high in antioxidants, perfect for boosting your immune system.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sliced cucumber, skin on 
  • 1 cup sliced pineapple
  • ½ frozen banana, peeled
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup light coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 cups chopped spinach or kale
  • 4 ice cubes

Method

Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. Sit back and enjoy!
