You are definately not a bad mother...You should be lucky your LO takes to a bottle, I had such a problem.

My daughter took breastmilk in the bottle for the first 3 months but then my milk wasnt enough to breastfeed and express and I stopped. At 4 months when I went back to work she wouldnt take on to the bottle, leaving me in tears everyday and worrying about her. It became so bad that 2 months later it affected my work and made the decision to quit and be home with her. Best decision I could've ever made by staying home with her.

Its now 2 years later, she stopped breastfeeding at about a year and 8 months, and didnt take the bottle at all. In the time that I was at home, financially it was very difficult and struggled to find work. Up until 2 weeks ago I was still at home, and now Im finally back in to the working field. I miss my daughter like crazy, we are so inseparable, me more then her, she is my world and would do anything for her. I am very grateful for my time that I had home with her but coming back to work is for both of us especially for her to give her the better life and what she deserves.

So take it as a blessing that your LO takes the bottle and dont ever think you are a bad mother, coz you worrying about your LO already shows what a great mother you are and forget about what others think about you...You doing GREAT!!!

Paisley *waves*

To look after your baby you have to look after yourself.
And if expressing at work is taking its toll on you, then you're not going to be all there for baby.
So make wise decisions that will ensure your happiness and therefore baby's.

PS Please post a pic of your gorgeous baba :D

We all have different burdens to bare when mom's, each one handles it differently so dont feel judged.
I still breastfeed morning and night and also weekends without any hassles at all.
By 4 months your milk supply is nicely established and your body will produce as need be.

PS dont pre-pack formula and bottles every day, just take a big tin and 3 empty bottles to the daycare and let them do it, less work for you :)

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

Hi Ladies!

You have all had such great Input.

I was also one of those moms who Luckily had a natural birth, and wanted to breastfeed exclusively for as long as possible. Unfortunately it never worked out that way. long story made short- I breastfed for 3 months, with expressing inbetween, my baba then got lazy and only wanted bottle, and I then dried up for not expressing enuf. I was distraut and in tears. Luckily I have a fantastic hubby who supported me every step of the way.

Paisley - What Im getting at - you can only do the best you can. you are a FANTASTIC mom!!! As Reluctant mom mentioned, as a mother - one is always feeling guilty about something!

Its not worth wasting energy on people who judge - they dont know the situation!

The other ladies have already said such good things and I agree with all of it!

I just wanted to add that the main benefit of BF (other than nutrition which obviously baby is getting from the formula) is the antibodies that are contained in it. By dropping to 2 feeds a day you are NOT dropping the amount of antibodies. Your body adjusts and boosts all of the antibodies baby needs into those 2 feeds. So, no personal guilt trip necessary! This way is just as good as expressing...although not as cheap. :P

My motto is happy mommy, happy baby! That's much more important than anything else. ;)

Paisley - you are not a bad mother and i promise you no one is judging you. You did it full tiem for a year!!!! I have had 2 kids and i did not even try breast feeding.

if you spend your day feeling guilty about the choice you make, you will not be happy. you are doing what works for you in at work.

your baby is getting the best of both worlds. YOU ROCK

Im a halfday working mom of 2 wonderful little girls, most days I just smile and nod and pretend that I know what I'm doing as a parent, but we all know its not true...
