Ilse - my son is 14 months, so it is a small age gap. But we wanted it like this. It is just funny how he ignores me when at home but when I want to leave I get a tantrum and crying.

Cookie Monster - I live in Pretoria and am on Medical Aid, have never been without it, so I can't help you. But maybe there is someone else on the thread that can give you more information. Or just create a thread and ask for information.

My Son turned 4 yesterday and he is coping very well with the fact that there will be another addition to the family. In fact he can't wait. Maybe it's because there is such a big age gap and he is basically doing everything for himself so he doesn't need my help that much any more that he is coping so well.

Hello Ladies,

Welcome to all the new pregnant fairies!

CookieMonster - welcome lady, now we have 3 ladies from June 2010 on the new thread! So cool!

Ladies I am having melt down concerning my in-laws. You can see my rant on the recent discussions. Am I being unfair?!

Pregnancy is going well. Still no MS. And I am very happy about that.

As for Gynae appointments. Most doctors prefer to see you only at 8 weeks. My Gynae on the other had made an exception due to my high risk pregnancy with my first baby, so she saw me at just over 6 weeks, and we were lucky to the peanut as well as hear the heartbeat. Only going at 12 weeks at the end of July now. Can't wait to see my peanut.

For all the second mommies, how are you coping with your other baba's? For some reason my son doesn't want anything to do with me, except when I leave for work, he has a breakdown, tantrum, cry for me. DH says it takes a good 30 minutes to calm him down....

Otherwise how is everyone doing?

Hi Everyone,

Tomorrow I will be 7 weeks with my second one. Only going for a scan on 1 August when I am 12 weeks and it feels like it's taking FOREVER!!! So excited can't wait. I don't know how I am going to be able to wait another 7 months.

Good luck to all.

Congrats Cisca, My Gynie also says 8 Weeks but if you call yours his receptionist should be able to tell you.

Shame Lollipop, sorry to hear you've been sick too.

Congrats on the confirmation of the BFP Cisca, nothing like seeing it in black and white (or rather through an HCG count).

My gynae prefers to wait until 8 weeks for the first ultrasound, but i guess a lot of doctors do things differently. Im aiming to go the 'private midwife' route again this time, so visits to the gynae will be limited to: early visit for pregnancy confirmation, 13 week fetal assessment at Kingsbury, 22 week (i think) fetal assessment then a 36 week final checkup at gynae (all going well).
