This is my 2nd baba and trust me, I dont even know everything there is to know about baby's so feel free to ask ANY question. Somebody will definitely have an answer or a suggestion based on experience.

What contradictions did u find btwn what gynie is telling you and what u were told in antenatal classes?

Hi ladies!

I'm new here, pregnant with a little girl, expected due date 5 Nov. She was a bit of a surprise (read: massive shock ), as hubby and myself have resigned ourselves to not being able to have kids. Now the shock is over we are very excited though.

Pregnancy so far has been very good, moderate morning sickness, moderate heartburn and lately no appetite, but thats the only complaints so far

I'm the last child born in my family (35 years ago) and dont have close friends with babies, so we really feel clueless and its nice to be on here. Any advice sorely appreciated!

Been to ante-natal classes at the hospital I'll be giving birth, and it is quite scary! I do realise that the midwives who give the class also have their own preferences but sometimes it seems to be in direct contradiction with what my gynie says. And I was just hoping for some objective advice from professionals

Anyway, that's a bit of background, nice to meet all of you!

Belaine, baba is growing hey! 2.4 kgs already.

All has been well on my end, went for my last scan last week, baba was weighing in at about 1.3kgs. Im 30 weeks now. Trying to figure out when i should take my maternity leave, im thinking mid september, MY edd is 07 october. We are also moving houses end of this month so its a busy time for us. Not looking forward to it at all, on the weight gain side, ive gained 18kgs already...yes thats rite 18! its a lot, but i hope it will all come off as it did with my first son.

I was invited for a get together at one of our other offices in Joburg yesterday. When i got there it was actually a surprise baby shower. I was just so stunned. The ladies really spoilt me, and I gots some great stuff for little one.
It really made me feel special.

My next gynae appointment is on 10th August. I can't wait to see little one on the scan. And I will be 30 weeks then.

I officially wil be on maternity leave from 1 October, but also taking about ten days annual leave before that. I'm forced to take it, as its statutory leave and its compulsory that this is taken before I go on Maternity leave.
I'm actually looking forward to it, as I can't get up in the mornings anymore, and I just need sleep..

Just a quick hi!!

My scan went great!! she is 2.4 kg i've picked up 4 kg in 2 months!! and c section date is 29 aug for now will confirm in 2 weeks time!!
Still no need to book my bed yet as hospital only book bed's once you 36weeks the one adv of being in middelburg and not pta!!

Hi to everyone else!!

Hi Ladies
Hope you all had a nice weekend
I'd been feeling abut off since last week and went to the Dr on Wed - was booked
off work til today with Bronchitis & Sinusitis! so was on antibiotics & cortisone
Had to go for my iron & rhesus blood test yesterday, plus dr found glucose in my urine
so will need to keep an eye on that in case it's gestational diabetes

On a positive note - D started playschool yesterday
She did so well - no tears and anything (at least not from her!!! )
She's the youngest & smallest in the school, so at first she just watched all the other
kids run around (DH & I stayed from 08h00-09h00) and when it was time for us to leave,
she gave us each a big hug & kiss goodbye, went into her classroom and sat down
And when I picked her up, she was sitting in the sandpit, completely covered in sand with
another little girl & boy - and she did not want to come home!
Anyway, she's going to school on Mon, Wed, Fri and MIL on Tues, Thurs til the end of the year
and then she starts her proper pre-school 5 days a week from Jan

Oh and we're moving into the house next weekend!! Yikes, anyone know where I can get boxes???
