Morning Ladies,

I had an awesome weekend! Found out my BEST friend is preggies with me!!
I feel fantastic!!! I'm 14 weeks today!!

I had a scan on friday! Doc is very happy with the twins. They were very busy. :woohoo:

I will be going back to the gynae on 18 weeks, but want to do a 4D scan on 16 weeks, to find out the sexes!!!

I have been on diffirent options on the Discovery med aid, and i find that the key care plus option works the best for a pregnency!!!

Hi there Ladies

@Tracyo - all the best with your visit today! Hope the doc can get a peek at the sex  We are also on Discovery and our savings are also depleted... which plan are you on? Thinking of moving to the Classic Comprehensive - when baby comes it will R6500 for the 4 of us... but not sure if we have any other choice :( I am also having a totally different pregnancy to my last and thats why i am convinced its a boy... but we will await the doc's confirmation on the 13th of Aug!

@Bodelq - we have the option of moving to Medi-help, which option are you on? We really need to investigate other options hey... Did you have a waiting period when you changed over?

Attached are the pics of the little bean - as promised!

AFM: had a good weekend! My niece turned 8 so we had her party on Saturday - my LG had a ball of a time, even though it was so DAM cold in Gauteng. Sunday was freezing so we had a couch and DVD day! All in all a relaxing weekend!

Hope all the other pregnant fairies are doing well?

Hi Ladies,

I hope you guys had a fantastic weekend. Today is my gynae visit - I cannot wait - hopefully we will find out baby's sex.... we would like a little boy but we will be very happy with whatever. I think it is a boy - this pregnancy has been very different to my previous pregnancies (I have two girls)...

We are on Discovery and we are almost at our savings limit.... and that does not cover the amnio (which is booked for tomorrow).... hopefully after the amnio costs we will be through the gap.... otherwise it is going to be a very expensive next 5 months....

Cheriky: holding thumbs for a little girl - hope you are having some really nice bonding time with your little one while hubby is away!!

Anthea: I am glad all went well with your dr visit - hope to see the pics soon!!

Bondelq: I craved pineapple and cucumber with my girls and had the normal early morning sickness and it was over after 1st trimester - very cute pic's... makes me even more excited for my scan today. Good luck with finding the right gynae for you!!

Hope you guys have a fantastic week  my mood seems to be on the up today - maybe something to do with gynae visit....

Anthea I had the same problem with Discovery when I was pregnant last year. Our saving only covered one GP visit and two spec-savers visits before the limit was reached. There was nothing left for my bloodtests and gynae visits so we ended up paying just over R25000 out of our own pockets.

This time I'm with Medi-help and they cover 12 Gynaecologist visits and two scans and it doesn't come from your savings account it's just extra cover that they offer. I phoned them now but they say the Gynae's fees are really high and for my own benefit I should rather find out about gynaes who ask the medical aid rate so I won't be paying in as much. Im really happy with Medi-help

I live in Centurion... But my gynae is PTA town...

Medical aid normally covers as long as you have savings... once the savings run out it comes out of your pocket until you reach the threshold (when they start covering expenses again)... Depending on your plan that self-payment gap can be quite big, so you end up paying from your pocket for a while hey

Anthea - I stay in Rustenburg and you?

Cherikey - I'm going private. All the best gynaes here are fully booked until September :( I think the one I chose now is also good, not sure if my medical aid will cover the R1000 per visit though

@Bondelq... I agree, something sounds quite wrong with how your doc's are conducting things... Perhaps you should get some doc referrals from friends/colleagues? Are you going private or government? Might explain the attitude?

@Anthea... Next scan is on the 24th... week and a half to go!
