Hi again everyone, I have decided to cancel my usual appointment and do the big fetal assessment scan at 20 weeks instead. I think it might give me peace of mind, apparently the scans are also much better quality and I can’t wait to see the little guy again!

@liefie I know all about the postnasal drip as well as the cold, I am also in Cape town. Can't wait for it to start warming up, although by then we will be too hot with our big bellies. :)

@hantielab congrats on two girls, it is going to be much fun deciding on names for twin girls!

Luckily I don’t have the day care problem as I work from home. I guess I will only know when baby is here how easy it is to actually get work done, I might need to get a nanny for some of the time.

Congrats you all..congrats on the 2 girls Hantielieb, that is sooo awesome. I have a little girl and they are the cutest...sounds like you all know the sex of your babies already! I'm the only one who still needs to find out..i'm 18wks this week and seeing the gynae at 20wks so in 2wks time, decided to wait until then to find out instead of going for another scan now..i am sooo convinced its another girl tho, i will probably faint if i find out its a boy:-)..hubby will probably celebrate for a year if it is a boy though..so at this stage it could go either way..
5 people have told me already that they've dreamt that its a BOY but i think its just because they know hubby would love a little son :-)...so 2 wks to go then i can hopefully start to shop..pink..or blue... :-)..its quite exciting...
@ Liefie, yes nowadays you have to start looking for daycares early, people put their kids names down as soon as they are born!!
Luckily we have a live in nanny so my one will stay at home until at least 2yrs and then we will put him/her in a little playgroup or something. I must say as a working mom the live in nanny option was the best one for me, i didnt have to stress about nanny arriving on time in the morning or if i'm late in the evenings i knew my child would be at home and fed and bathed..but i know its not an option for everyone..try and look at daymothers in the area, i think thats better for a tiny baby, too many babies at the day cares

Congrats on your little boy leelpetersen :) We are also having a boy! and my due date is 12 Dec.

Have any of you started to research day care centres or day mothers?
I would love to have a nanny that looks after ours at home but I don't see that happenting unfortuntely.

When you start researching how do you know you have found the perfect one?

Hey ladies,

Glad to hear all is well with you all and that our babies are growing nicely.. Had my 17wk check up last Monday, Dr says its looks like a boy so I am very much excited. Bought my first pack of nappies ( I know its still a few months, but I just could not help myself).. Dr has also given me a date for Little One to be born.. So the 17th of December we will meet this little guy officially...

Hi all!

Hantielab conrats that great news! So happy for you and the girls :)

Welcome MrsJ I am due the 12 Dec and 19 weeks along also with my first and expecting a boy too :) I also started feeling my little ones flutters early on
and this week sometimes it feels like small kicks!

We are doing the 20week fetal assesment - we wern't really given the option to
do normal scan just the fetal assesment.

I don't have any more symptoms anymore I just struggle with Post nasal drip every now and then and I am hungry often hehehe so I don't go without food for too long
if I don't feel good.

Hope you all have lovely weekend it is FREEZING in cape town! so I will be staying indoors under the blankets and with lots of movies! :silly:

Hi all!!
We had such an awsome day yesterday! Dr confirmed both babies are growing strong. Baby A 178g and Baby B 156g. And to my delight it seems that both are girls! Super excited and feeling much more relaxed now! Dr also confirmed that we can consider natural birth if both are positioned head down when time comes! So that is my news!

Welcome MrsJ and congrats with your boy. My firstborn also a boy and so much joy and laughter in our house.
Your lucky to feel him so early on, my first was only at 22 weeks with my son. Waiting now for those first movements!

We've decided on the normal scan at 20 weeks. Just personal choice!

Good luck and hope the skin clears up quickly!!

Hope you all are having a lovely week!

Hi there, I am due 22nd Dec and a first time mom :)

It looks like I am having a little boy, really thought I was having a girl, so quite a surprise but very exciting! I am now 17weeks, and starting to feel some fluttering.

Besides from that my skin is terrible, hoping it will start clearing quickly, it is also so dry. luckily the nausea seems to have stopped!

Have any of you thought about the big 20 week scan? I am trying to decide whether to just have the regular gynae one or the special fetal assessment scan.

Otherwise, how are you ladies doing?
